If they lose Ansah, I'd argue the need at EDGE is just as important.

The Antonio Brown trade isn’t the only deal involving the Raiders set to become official on Wednesday afternoon.

ESPN reports that the Raiders have agreed to trade guard Kelechi Osemele to the Jets. No word on the compensation going back to the Raiders was immediately available. They are set to give up third- and fifth-round picks in the deal for Brown.

Offensive line help was one area the Jets were expected to address this offseason and Osemele gives them an experienced piece on the interior. Last year’s left guard James Carpenter is set to be a free agent and Osemele will likely slot into his spot this year. The team re-signed center Jonotthan Harrison this weekend, but have three other veterans set for free agency so more moves are likely coming.

Osemele is headed into the fourth year of the five-year deal he signed in Oakland in 2016. He’s set to make $9.7 million with a $500,000 workout bonus that adds up to a $10.2 million cap hit. No dead money will remain on the Raiders’ cap once the deal becomes official. (PFT)

The Chiefs were trying to find a trading partner for a deal involving linebacker Justin Houston and word has been for some time that they would release him if one didn’t materialize.

No team stepped up to take Houston off Kansas City’s hands and the team announced his release on Sunday afternoon. Houston spent the last eight seasons with the Chiefs and head coach Andy Reid issued a statement as part of the team’s announcement.

“I’ve been fortunate to get to know Justin over the last six seasons, and not only is he a talented football player, but he’s a tremendous person,” Reid said. “He really helped set the tone, and I appreciate the work he put in with us. I wish him the best as he continues his career.”

Houston was set to earn a $15.2 million salary in 2019 while counting $21.1 million under the cap. The Chiefs also have Dee Ford on their cap under the terms of the franchise tag and that was a lot of money to devote to one spot. They have reportedly heard interest in trades for Ford, so they could be making more moves on the edge of the defense.

Houston will be able to negotiate with teams and sign a new deal right away and enters our list of the top 100 free agents at No. 53. (PFT)

Possibly, but I was already mocking them a CB before this move (it was Greedy previously and it will be him again in the next one out this week).

IMO, they have a huge problem in the secondary in a division that is going to make them suffer for it.

If a guy like Gary falls into their lap, I think you can scratch Greedy. We'll see.

When was the last draft that a CB didn't go in the top 12 picks when there was still a talented pass rusher available, with teams that needed one still in play?

The Browns went with Ward at #4 with Bradley Chubb available.

With Da'Shawn Hand and Romeo Okwara on hand I think the priority is definitely at corner.

    Watch them take Metcalf. lol!

    That would be wild.

I've seen him mocked to the Raiders a couple different times with that #4 pick.

Gruden loves that guy...Unless he was sandbaggin.

Of course, that was all pre-Antonio Brown era....

Gruden loves everybody, unless it's his current quarterback, and then he effing hates that guy with the white hot flame of a thousand suns, lol.

Report: Lions considered the favorites to land Anthony Barr...

The black-and-blue division could get a little more Honolulu blue this week.

With Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr due to hit the open market, the Lions are considered to be the favorite to sign him, according to Connor Hughes of TheAthletic.com.

Barr, a top-10 pick in 2014, has completed his rookie deal and the fifth-year option. The Vikings have not yet re-signed him, and they opted to apply neither the franchise tag nor the transition tag to keep Barr in place. He is one of the only core Vikings players who has not received a long-term financial reward.

Per Hughes, the Jets and Vikings also have interest in signing Barr, who should find out when the legal tampering window opens whether the Minnesota offer compares favorably to offers from new teams.

Although Barr has been a solid performer for the Vikings, they took him at a time when players like Aaron Donald, Odell Beckham, Taylor Lewan, and Zack Martin were still on the board. (PFT)

Brown basically screwed the Steelers because he didn’t want to play in Buffalo. They were offering Revolution #9 to the Steelers.

I have seen you mention this a couple different times now...

    A) Where did you get that they were offering #9 overall? I haven't seen that anywhere credible.
    B) Rosenhaus stated yesterday that the Buffalo deal was over compensation, not ABs unwillingness to go there. He stated frankly, AB had no say in where he did or didn't go. It wasn't part of the Buffalo talks.

AB's antics took a #1 off the table on every teams negotiations, might have been why so many dropped out early if the Steelers said that was part of the deal.

I kept hearing it was number nine. AB basically wanted to go west coast, which meant only one team was a possible trade partner. The Raiders, no other west coast teams wanted to trade for him.

Any article I read said it COULD have included Buffalo's #9 pick, but nothing said it did. Sure it's possible it could have been the #9. It could have been Buffalo's entire 2019 and 2020 and 2021 draft haul as well. I highly doubt it was the case though. Sometime in the future we may get the story, and if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong.
