I understand the concept of locking the rosters for this exercise. When the Browns released Jamie Collins on real life, I opted to mimic that move in the GMO. I will not mimic the reported trade with the Giants.

My question is this: Are draft picks locked as well? I'm assuming the picks I had on 3/4/19 are the picks I will still have when the GMO draft begins unless I include one or more of those picks in a player trade between now and the draft. Correct?

 

Rosters and draft picks were locked the same day.

Nope. Thought the Zeitler for Vernon trade sucked monkey dicks. There were/are far better ways for both the Giants and the Browns to help their cap situation and rosters.

This is why I didn't like the trade. The Browns take on an albatross of a contract for a player that hasn't (as of late) played up to the value of that contract. And for the privilege of taking on that contract, the Browns gave up an integral piece of their interior O-line.

 

It’s not as bad as it looks Lym. Zero guaranteed to Vernon at this point. You can cut him whenever you’d like if the performance isn’t matching up. So probably can’t call it an albatross.

I understand missing Zeitler though. Maybe they like a backup more than we know, or have something planned for FA?

 

It was more losing Zeitler than taking on Vernon's contract.

 

Yup, this is YOUR exercise. The day the rosters locked, everything locked. The Browns are yours to do as you ease in order to see the difference between what You do vs what they end up doing in reality.

 

@showstopper, It's up to you, but for the sake of realism, I'm fine with playing out that real life AB trade into this. If you want the extra 3rd and 5th rounder for the draft, we can go ahead and execute that deal. Or not, it really doesn't matter to me....

In the past, @Tim started a F/A thread to track bids. There was a request to delay the start of the FA bidding by the LAOJoe family. Dont know if we start today or not.

FA is starting tomorrow morning. We delayed 24 hours to accommodate LAOJOe and a couple newbies keeping up through Tim

 

Is there going to be a thread for restructures? I still don't really understand how we're supposed to do those.
