You'll be glad you got him Irish...Let's just see how he looks in Indy. I want to see D.K. eliminate doubt.

Who knows? We might look elsewhere at WR, it's hard to tell....FWIW, I also really like both of the Brown's, Marquise and A.J., and Deebo Samuel, a lot..

    Still #2 on my WR list;

    Marquise Brown, WR -Oklahoma
The fact that he has a very productive season at Oklahoma playing with Baker Mayfield, is just a plus...

Watching his film, and thinking of the Cleveland Browns "air raid" attack that we are gonna unleash in 2019, I can picture Marques Brown as the perfect fit...

TD, I get the feeling you have never seen a WR you didn't like. :p

Well I'm on an island here (as usual), but I think there are plenty of people that look at the Browns offense and see it the way I do.... Here's an excerpt from a Sporting News article titled "Identifying Every Team's Dream Draft Target"...

Cleveland Browns: Ole Miss WR D.K. Metcalf

I didn't expect to be writing this anytime soon about the Cleveland Browns, but the team is in pretty good shape.

This isn't to say the Browns are without holes. They have more than one. But not one of those needs is so glaring that it ties the franchise's hands in this year's draft.

Still, those holes are there—among them is a big-bodied wide receiver who can win one-on-one battles in the red zone.

There is no shortage of mock drafts that project Cleveland will take a wide receiver at No. 17. For Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News, that wideout is D.K. Metcalf of Ole Miss:

"While his college teammate A.J. Brown is the shorter, scrappier playmaker, Metcalf is the classic size-speed prospect (6-4, 230 pounds). That's the kind of outside No. 1 the Browns' offense needs to push the ball better both downfield and in the red zone with Baker Mayfield, especially now that we know their new head coach, Freddie Kitchens, won't be messing with the passing game."

Seriously—just take a look at this dude.

      That's a beefy young pass-catcher.

Its the same injury Corey Davis had and he still went 5. Most have this guy in the top 10-15 overall..I don't see the foot making him drop that far.

When you say "most" have him in the top 10-15 overall...who are you talking about? Most I see have him any where from 25 overall-3rd round, pre-injury. The problem is, there probably won't be any doctor reports back pre-draft that gives a great "current" update..therefore the prognosis will be speculative.

Corey Davis had an ankle injury, not surgery for Lisfranc in January prior to the draft.

Fact is, most NFL players that suffer a lisfranc injury return to play, so I don't think teams necessarily will worry about that. It's that nearly every player has a drop in production after the injury to varying degrees. I will note, most are not significant drops that can be directly related to the injury.

Regardless, the fact that there is a drop in studies from past injuries, would indicate the injury will most likely put a question mark on his status on most teams boards that are/were serious about drafting him early.

was shooting from the hip..thought I had a solid recall on this one...guessing im wrong. Would you settle for I have seen him as high as 10-15 on some mock drafts? :)

Irish you have made it clear on a number of posts that you don't think any of the receivers in this draft warrant first round consideration...Some folks do not agree with that take, even though lets face it, you tend to relay it as if it's a fact...I get it. You want Cleveland to go a different direction, and you have your reasons..

Just sayin, I've seen Marquese Brown projected in the first round plenty of times, and even top 10 on several occasions...

You don't want the Browns to take a WR in round one, and I understand that....That doesn't mean there aren't worthy candidates. It's an opinion.

If it drops him to the 17th pick of round two, I'd be ecstatic.

    Brown is a baller.

I saw a moc that has the Steelers taking Brown with their rd 1 pick.

@IrishDawg42 ... This occurred to me, and maybe I'm way off, but perhaps a reason you are seemingly always stomping out the WR notion, is because I'm always promoting it? lol! Hell, it would be foolish if we agreed. I enjoy the differing perspectives that we have every year. If everyone agreed on everything it would all be pointless and boring. We could make a good war room with the Browns fans that post here..

FTR, you always have a good plan for the Browns, and I always respect it my friend.

I know at the end of the day we both want the same thing, and now that Baker Mayfield is in the fold, it really feels possible...

Mock Draft Roundup: 8 different mocks, 8 different picks for the Browns

After a month or so of rounding up the latest mock drafts, one thing has become abundantly clear.

    This isn't 2017.

Remember? Week after week, the mock drafts would say the Browns are taking Myles Garrett at No. 1. And then, when it was time to make the pick, the Browns took ... Myles Garrett.

It couldn't be more different this week. That's life with the 17th pick.

We've got eight of the latest mock drafts from around the Internet, and all eight feature different picks for the Browns. Maybe we'll have some clarity after the NFL Combine? Don't get your hopes up.

    Here's how it breaks down.

Charley Casserly - NFL.com: LB Devin White - LSU*
    Of Note
*: The former NFL executive says White would be "too good" to pass up at this spot.

Ryan Wilson - CBSSports.com: WR D.K. Metcalf - Ole Miss*
    Of Note
*: The viral sensation will have plenty of eyes on him at the Combine, where he'll look to show his speed hasn't been hampered by all the muscle he's packed on to his body.

Danny Kelly - The Ringer: OT Andre Dillard - Washington State*
    Of Note
    *: Kelly calls Dillard a "pass-blocking savant."

Charlie Campbell - WalterFootball.com: DL Jeffery Simmons - Mississippi State
Of Note: Simmons recently suffered a torn ACL, but Campbell believes the Browns are young enough to weather that kind of injury.

Mel Kiper Jr. - ESPN.com: DL Dexter Lawrence - Clemson
Of Note: Kiper had Simmons in this spot in his first mock draft but bumped him down because of the injury.

Pete Prisco - CBSSports.com: OT Yodny Cajuste - West Virginia
Of Note: Prisco expects Cajuste would provide competition at left tackle and could very well start as a rookie.

Benjamin Solak - The Draft Network: CB Greedy Williams - LSU
Of Note: At 6-foot-1 and 182 pounds, Williams provides the kind of length teams covet at cornerback, Solak writes.

Luke Easterling - USA Today DraftWire: CB Byron Murphy - Washington
Of Note: Murphy was one of the nation's best cornerbacks in 2018, garnering first- and second-team All America recognition from a combined six media outlets.

For everyone, but mostly @TopDawg ...

The metrics are *not* kind to D.K.

  15. TopDawg Legend

I'm not surprised. There were a lot of inconsistencies in that offense. I've mentioned many times that D.K. is a projection. It's all based off his dimensions and raw athleticism...We'll see where he stacks up in a week or two.... I've been saying all along that he needs to blow it up at The Combine, and I think he will...

  16. TopDawg Legend

Watching some NFL Channel last night. They replayed the Browns/Ravens week 17 game as part of their "rookie games" being featured. It really was an entertaining football game...Browns got hosed of course. The refs ruined the play of the year. What else is new? Maybe I'll get over it when they quit replaying it.... This season, we just gotta dominate and take it out of the refs hands.

Also a couple new mock drafts came out. Former Browns scout Daniel Jeremiah, has the us taking OT Andre Dillard. And former Redskins GM Charlie Casserly, has Cleveland taking LB Devin White...

If White got to #17, I would really love that pick.

    Bold Prediction:

With the release of Jamie Collins and the rumors of Zietler being moved, here are a few bold predictions:

Zietler, Peppers + more and multiple picks will be traded

Justin Houston, Landon Collins, OBJ, CJ Mosley and 1 more "big" name will become Browns

Last years FA action will look like childs play compared to what Dorsey will pull off this year.

    Why would he move Zeitler?

I hadn't heard until you posted it, just went and read some reports...

Starting to think Dorsey might just like "PLAYING GM".

Wanting to create more cap space??? More like create more holes in the roster.

    WTF
