I think he was probably going in the first round prior to the combine, but his testing numbers may make him a top 16 pick.

I could see the Steelers going after him if they get something good for AB. Then they could cut Dupree. Sweat could actually cover a WR if he’s athletic enough.

That's a possibility, but one of the Devin duo should be in play at pick 20 and either one represents a significant upgrade at ILB for PIT, IMO.

There will be some quality edge rushers still available in the second but you won't get another crack at an uber-athletic inside linebacker outside of the first round.

If the Steelers take the same approach they did with Timmons and Woodley they might get the same kind of payoff.

Ouch. I mean, not that the national shows are good, but to just hear the local stations when you don't care at all for the local teams... that's rough. I feel for you.

Fear not - you're not missing anything from ESPN. I can't believe how quickly Mike & Mike turned into Garbage & More Garbage.

BSPN might not be anything to write home about about, but damn I'd like to hear news about the combine or impending free agency. Now it's all Bryce Harper and "can Carson Wentz bounce back?" almost 24/7.

No, that's ESPN. You're listening to ESPN, don't worry.

Knowing what I know about Gettleman and the Giants there is a very real possibility Sweat goes #6 overall. 35.75" arms? Gettleman is standing in a corner drooling on himself watching this kids forty yard dash on repeat. Who needs a quality QB anyway?

Dwayne Haskins visited with the Giants last night...

    Per, PFT...

Ohio State will hold its Pro Day workout on Wednesday and quarterback Dwayne Haskins is one of the top prospects heading from Columbus to the NFL this year.

At least one team is using the occasion to do more that watch Haskins go through the motions on the field. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that a contingent from the Giants that included head coach Pat Shurmur and offensive coordinator Mike Shula met with Haskins and had dinner with him on Tuesday night.

There have been varying reports about the Giants’ level of interest in Haskins, who threw 50 touchdowns in his only season as the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes, but there have been plenty of calls for the team to land a successor to Eli Manning.

General Manager Dave Gettleman has talked about following the “Kansas City model” of drafting a quarterback in the first round and using his rookie season as a learning experience. With two first round picks, the Giants are well stocked to put that plan into motion, assuming, of course, there’s a quarterback that strikes their fancy.

Nick Bosa meeting with 49ers tonight...

Nick Bosa won’t be doing any drills at Ohio State’s Pro Day today, but he will be working.

Or, more accurately, going on a job interview.

According to Albert Breer of SI.com, the Ohio State defensive end is meeting and having dinner with the 49ers tonight.

If the Cardinals take quarterback Kyler Murray first overall (though that’s not guaranteed), the 49ers would ostensibly have their choice of any defensive player in a draft loaded with potentially immediate contributors.

Bosa would be a significant addition to a defense that has already added pass-rusher Dee Ford and linebacker Kwon Alexander this offseason.

I think the 49ers are in a really good position...Choice between Bosa, Williams and Allen, OR if they are not enamored with any defensive player, they will be in a prime spot to trade down for the top bidder for either Kyler Murray or Dwayne Haskins. I think there will be a pretty big market for Haskins if the Cardinals take Kyler Murray.

I am still so interested in the idea that the Cards would move on from Rosen after just a single season. On one hand I respect the hell out of a GM who is willing to say -- This is not our guy after just a single season if they really feel that way. A high first round QB typically holds a franchise hostage for at least 3 years and they are uniquely positioned to replace him after the season they had... But on the other hand giving up on a QB you traded up to get so quickly feels like a rushed decision. Plus he costs you more to move OFF the roster than he does to stay on it.

I don't think anyone has a clue if they are really considering moving him. But it has been a fun story line to speculate on. If they just keep him and take the BPA it also changes the top of the draft in some fun ways.

Hell, if they are THAT high on Kyler Murray, I would take him and just keep Rosen to see which one develops this year. Rosen could have a breakout year which would give the Cardinals a much bigger trade than they would get right now with the notion they are already to move on from him. If Murray is ready to go day one, then as soon as a contender's QB goes down, Rosen could be first in line for a trade. Win win...

Dwayne Haskins has four more private meetings set up...

The Giants may have gotten the first crack at a private meeting with Dwayne Haskins, but they’ll be far from the last.

According to Aditi Kinkhabwhala of NFL Network, the Ohio State quarterback said he also has four other meetings scheduled (though there could always be more).

Specifically, Haskins mentioned the Raiders (who pick fourth overall), Broncos (10th), Dolphins (13th), and Washington (15th). The Giants are picking sixth overall.

The conventional wisdom is that Haskins could be the second quarterback off the board after Kyler Murray, but that kind of range of teams setting up meetings speaks to the uncertainty.

With so many teams looking for answers at the position, there could be interest in trading up to get to Haskins. Jets General Manager Mike Maccagnan has already admitted he’d be willing to trade down from the third spot if the price was right, and these meetings might help teams decide whether they want to get involved. saw an interesting trade scenario...eagles trade nelson agholor to jacksonville for leonard fournette? foles needs a familiar weapon and the eagles need a real starting rb. not a bad trade.

  16. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

Agholor is no where near as valuable as Fournette. Unless the latter starts shouting that he wants out, and the situation becomes untenable, this shouldn't be anywhere near a fair trade.

  17. Catfish Guest

but Foles plays well with Agholor and Fournette has shown to be nothing but trouble and injured. Look at the Steelers for just getting rid of Bell and Brown and got little back. Sometimes you need to just cut the cancer away from the team, to save the team!

  18. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

I don't think Fournette has been a cancer, at all. Certainly not to the extent that Brown and Bell were. Hell, Bell wasn't a cancer, he just chose not to play.

    It's not an equitable trade.

  19. Catfish Guest

i agree that's it's not fair trade, but Coughlin wasn't too happy with Fournette or Yeldon in late December. Bell quit on his team. Fine, don't him a cancer. He's a quitter. Just as bad.
