Looking forward to 2019, Browns NFL Rookie Draft

Another reason I wouldn't rule out OT, is that Greg Robinson's deal was only for 1 year... That's not a huge commitment. Certainly raises questions.

I know he played pretty well for us, but what happened to him in his first few season's? Was it a coaching, or motivation, health, something else? Why was he a bust before he came here? The Browns clearly wanna see more before any long term agreement is reached. I wonder if we should be worried about him falling back into old habits, if we did invest heavy?

For what it's worth, the Browns wanted him on a multi-year deal, but he wanted starter money on those years and asked for a single year with a little more money upfront for 2019 to prove his worth. The Browns were happy to do it and feel they can extend him midway through the season if/when he proves he is what they saw in the last several games and not the last few years.

That's interesting. I didn't know that we tried to sign him long term, but it makes sense. He's trying to cash in big. We will likely have a highly motivated LT in 2019.

You do bring up a valid question though, about motivation, what happens once he gets paid?

I don't know if anyone has really analyzed his previous years to break down what went wrong. I haven't heard reports of him being lazy or anything like that. I just assumed he couldn't grasp concepts needed to succeed at this level. Apparently that isn't the case or Mayfield is just that good at making his line look better than they really are.. I hope he works out, but if it's Mayfield, I hope the recognize that and don't over spend on O-line in the future.

    We shall see...

Out on the boards today I saw a dead head sticker on the Browns board
A little voice in my head said
Don’t look back you can never look back
Those days of the Browns winning
Are gone forever what did I know.

After that performance TD will be insufferable.

Not sure he makes it out of the top 10.

Going to be tough/expensive for Dorsey to get him now

Oh, I saw it...and I've said all along that he'd show out at the combine, and that I don't expect D.K. to get to #17....;)

Thanks Lym...FWIW, there's plenty of room on the Island...Obviously, I can be swayed. I do like Devin White and Christian Wilkins a helluva lot too, and after yesterday, Andre Dillard is now among my faves.

Metcalf is a Monster. Geez... He's not "Megatron", but he's of a similar freakiness. I know I've said it 50 times, but the thought of that guy in the orange and brown, working with Baker Mayfield and the rest of this group, makes me think about winning it all....

It wasn't just the strength and speed with D.K. either...His true passion for this really showed.
