I am not a fan of how Dubas has handled the contract negotiations during the season. (Granted, that exceptionally challenging.)

Bill Nylander's deal raises the bar (IMO by a lot) for Marner. I think with that, and looking at Stone, you have to expect $9MM+. Mitch is worth the money, but Kapanen is too! JT & AM are in a category above, but there's only so much money to go around.

I'd say they should peddle Nylander - screw the "promise". But it's already looking like a bad contract.

Marner is gonna get his and he's earned it.

They have no choice but to trade either nylander or kapanen, the math doesn't add up. Now Nylanders deal doesn't look as bad considering what Stone got.
Yes, to get 8 years only the Sens can give him that deal, but for some reason they can't make it official until March. 1st.

I was beating the drum two years ago that the Flyers should have moved Wayne while his value was thru the roof. (Bob was saying it 3years ago. Where is Bob???) Now all they have to show for it is two years of him being a god "locker room guy" and somebody named Ryan Hartman.

Maybe we can trade the Phil for Kapanen?

Ok, let's keep the same deal in place, we continue to pay the $1.5M and the Pens keep covering the rest lol.
I hear teh phils fallen out of favor lately, he's hot and cold but usually a lock in the playoffs.

exactly. you strike when the iron is hot, not when it's out.

Not so much that he has fell out of favor rather the window is closing quicker than expected. Thanks GMJR.

Maybe he's just going through a bad stretch, overall on the season he's at a point a game. Three years left after this season with a $6.8M cap hit at 31, it's not that bad.
With two SCs, the Pens can't complain.

Not complaining at all I loved getting Phil and they don't win those two cups without him.

I wouldn't be surprised if teh phil has another playoff run in him. Even at 25 goals and 60pts it's not that bad. Stone just got $9.5M for being much less of a sniper.

over the weekend, rumor swirled about connor mcdavid wanting out of edmonton and there were 3 trade scenarios someone wrote about. one was from buffalo but didn't include dahlin or eichel. no way they get mcdavid, without giving up one or both of those players. can't see it happening.

McDavid wants to win. He vents his frustration at lost seasons, gets upset and the media runs with it. I think its no more than hot air and puffed up fabrication by a few journalist.

i can understand his frustration. edmonton already traded gretzky. i can't see them trading mcdavid too.

McD will only put up with the team being 3 players deep for so long.
