yeah not what i was looking for, but like you said last week skinny, the market was way down on simmonds, as he was not having a great year.

guess there was no market for gudas and ghost then ? bummer. oh well. hope simmonds does well with Lavi.

Nathan Beaulieu to the Jets; BUF gets another '19 sixth.

He won't have to play with Brendan Lemieux - he went to the NYR - so Nate has that going for him.

Remember that a lot of June - August trades are framed out at the deadline. It's hard to move some pieces mid-season; especially if your team has a shot at the postseason.

I strongly doubt that Buffalo will make it in, but it's encouraging to see them buy, while not giving up for the future at the same time. Adding Montour may give them the flexibility to move Rasmus Ristoleinen. It wasn't done today, but is more likely to happen this offseason.

$9.5 per seems awfully steep. price of doing business these days.

Insane, and he did good for being a 6th rounder.

Sens have luck with these kind of picks, Karlsson was a 15th overall.

    Of all years.

  17. Canucks did well at last minute trades.........

We get rid of Gudbrasson and get Tanner Pearson from Pens....OK and Fair Trade.

I like this trade......we get Prospect Linus Karlsson from SJ for Jonathan Dahlen.....good trade.

Karlsson is 19 and shoots Right........Yahoo........Dahlen doing nothing in the Minors.

my thing on the Stone deal is how did they come to terms so fast ? im sure they spoke to his agent about a deal before he was actually dealt, but to agree to a long and expensive deal so quickly was shocking to see. it's like they had a backyard side deal arranged all along ?

normally i would go all-catfish on the lack of flyers moves, but i hear my inner Kilkenny Dan this morning and see it for what it is and i have no control of it. i'm just a crazed hockey fan, not a GM. :)

If Stone is getting $9.5M, I fear what Marner is going to ask.

To get 8 years, (and I think he did) OTT had to have done a sign-and-trade. The Sens were the only team that could have gone max. 8 with Stone.

Likewise, today is the first day BUF can offer Jeff Skinner 8 years. I expect a deal announced sooner than later. Skinner has earned the right to maximize his income. All signs point to a long term deal. But, that Stone deal worries me; I hope the Sabres do not have to go more than 10% of the cap, ($8.4MM AAV).
