Those who think losing intentionally is best are missing something here. Where do you draw the line, Catfish? Many times a team that's seeded 6 through 8th in the playoffs have went deep in the playoffs and even won a Cup. So, having said that, whats the criteria for a full out tank for a team with a chance at making the playoffs and on a 6 game win streak???

Tuukka Rask, with a 1-0 shutout, becomes the Bruins all-time wins leader. That's pretty special.

When I was younger I remember goalies like Gilles Gilbert and Cheavers… Tuukka passed them all.

At least cheevers looked like he belonged in a horror flick. Tuukka fits right in there slow dancing with Chauch.

Will you will never convince me this current Flyers team could win a playoff series. they need a miracle and a ton more wins to make the playoffs. my point is why ? if they had some bad luck and were out of the playoffs but a few points, contending is a must. they have been near the bottom or at the bottom all season long. that's where the line is drawn Will ! winning these 7 games is just fooling themselves they are a contender for the last playoff spot. they have been a bust and a pretender since opening night.

Where do you draw the line between being a buyer and seller at the deadline?

good point. if the flyers trade simmonds and 1-2 others, it's tank time.

When does Auston Matthews sign, lots of people waiting for him to set the market. Laine, Rantanen, and Marner notably.

They're working on it, only question is if it's 3-5 years or 8.

Avs reportedly came to the table at an AAV around $6 for Raantanen last summer, kid is probably looking at something near $9 now. All dependent on AM’s deal.

Yeah, if Raantanen played here they probably would have to give him over $13M the way they handled Nylander.

It's a shame they might have to reward matthews with 12-13.5 without having ever done much in the playoffs.

gotta think between Matthews and Marner youre looking at $22-25 per year

Yeah, I was saying two years ago that mtthews, marner and nylander were going to be $25-30M. Honestly, when they signed JT, I thought they decided they were going to cut ties with nylander.

Seems to me the Maple Leafs went all in when signing JT. With the unsustainable contracts, it really puts the pressure on winning it all now.

does Nylander have any kind of no movement clauses? if not, adios.

Nylander has a better contract than Johnny Hockey in Calgary!

Only on his last year, Dubas promised JT and then Nylander himself that he wouldn't be traded.

    more than Pastrnak

how can Toronto possibly keep JT $11, Matthews $XX, Marner $X??, and Nylander$6.96. youre looking at roughly half your cap ($40m) on 4 Fs and then also Marleau and Kadri coming at $10.75 combined, maybe move both out for super cheap contracts? otherwise you only have roughly $30m for everyone else- 6Fs, 6D, 2G and a couple depth players. Lucky to have Reilly and Freddie on very team friendly deals.
