Looking forward to 2019, Browns Team Needs

Quickest team I could think to make a joke about.

Close second was Sean McVay showing his team the stream of #LARamming thinking it was their highlights and instead getting a combination of weird, Louisiana animal porn and weird, Louisiana regular porn.

The content of that article was good, but, damn was that poorly written. While it's not reflected in my posts (this is a message board), I was a one time journalism major, and the quality of that article would not have flown in high school.

Nobody is putting Brady in their rear view. 9 SBs and 5 wins. FA kills all teams except ones coached by Belichik.

The Browns have one of the best young rosters in the NFL. They are incredibly young, with a majority of players on rookie contracts. They have some of the most cap room in the entire League and can comfortably keep rolling cap space in order to re-up their own when their deals come due.

Baker Mayfield has already proven himself to be an elite quarterback as a rookie without any training camp or preseason time as a starter and who's franchise changed coaches half-way through the season.

Freddie Kitchens' offense was the number one offense in the NFL after he took over and the second-best offense in NFL history behind only the 2001 St. Louis Rams.

This is not hyperbole... the Browns are an elite team. If Steve Wilks can get the defense into even the top half from a points/yards allowed standpoint, this team is going to go deep into the playoffs next season. Once Brady retires, the only team in the AFC the Browns will have to worry about is the Kansas City Chiefs.

No team is catching the Patriots dynasty. It’s just too ridiculous what they have done.

The culture has changed...I always knew it could and would if we just found the right guy. Long over-due, but it's an awesome feeling. John Dorsey hit the jackpot with Baker Mayfield, and a lot of us were calling for him all the way, which makes it all the sweeter...

Best part is, he's just getting started. As SAS pointed out, this coming season will be Baker's first year with full support in Cleveland....It's gonna be so much fun for Browns fans. Mayfield has barely scratched the surface yet. He is a special player. As we well know, you just don't find those very often. I've never seen a QB take total command quite like this kid....Baker will win Super Bowls for the Cleveland Browns. I'm very confident in that.

One question, on the porn show: 20 minutes to figure out how to turn it off?

What were they waiting for....... a commercial?

On a more serious note: this article clearly shows the damage an owner can cause, and while not surprising, certainly embarassing in it's detailing the well meaning but complete ineptitude of Jimmy in particular.

Did we see a "turning of the corner" moment when Dee & Jimmy took spectator seats at Freddie's coming out presser?

    More likely "a" turning point,IMO.
Quite possibly just another one in the long list of turning points Jimmy has agreed to, like the ones mapped out in the article.

The man is the Owner! I would like to think he made a very shrewd decision in hiring Dorsey, and that in recognition of his own shortcomings, and track record, is "committed" to allowing Dorsey to do what he was hired to do, and handle the "football" decisions.

I'd like to believe that, and do, today. What about tomorrow?

IMO, Dorsey has bought some rope, but to avoid the fickle Haslam curse, he "has to" make the playoffs in 2019.

Dorsey got the QB, he fortified the team in FA with veterans, he improved the team with numerous draft picks, and he manipulated the coaching situation, to allow him to get "his coach". Well Done!

His ability to manage his owner, will be the most challenging job he faces going forward.

Keeping Jimmy engaged yet compartmentalized is the trick.

No one should expect Slam to become a shrinking violet, but if Dorsey, Baker and Kitchens make of this team what we all believe they can, Slam will look good, and continue to provide rope.

Hopefully Jimmy reads this article (no way he doesn't), realizes he's been the undermining force, rather than read the piece where Dorsey purportedly says "I flexed my muscle, and won", making him feel manipulated.

It'll be a tightrope walk, but I gotta believe Dorsey can do it.

I agree, Frank Clark is a possibility... AB has a -10% chance of happening, yes I wrote that right, it has less than 0% chance of becoming true.

The other, I do believe Browns draft picks will be traded in one way or another. This is such a vague prediction, that it is actually the most easy to come true. In fact, I would be SHOCKED if at least one draft pick wasn't traded..this is not even a bold prediction.

Apparently your team needs more money, as they are raising ticket prices for the first time in eleven years. Shouldn’t they at least wait until they had a winning record. The NFL is all about the dam money. The game just isn’t the same anymore. Money runs the game not the love of playing it. When I was a kid a day didn’t go by that my friends and myself didn’t go out and play football. 365 days a year. We really loved the game. Players sitting out because being the highest paid at your position in the history of the league isn’t good enough. You know he doesn’t really love the game. Then they are going to have a lock out and don’t seem to care about the fans.
