There's been a lot of that this season. People comment on Jackson without actually watching the games. Comments about how he takes off if his first read isn't there still amazes me. Lamar Jackson goes through progressions, period. If it's a passing play, an actual designed pass, he is standing in the pocket until he just can't. Even then, when he takes off his eyes are still downfield looking for the open man at least 90% of the time.

Allen, as you said, is a true one read and run QB, yet nobody questions it he can stay healthy or if his style of offense is sustainable nearly as much as they do Lamar. Its amazing how that works

Adding fuel to the fire is misinformed "experts" like Esiason parroting those lines.

Jackson was my QB2 for last year's draft - with the huge asterisk that he needed to go to a team that used him correctly. I think his ceiling and impact can be incredible.

Mayfield v. Jackson and Mayfield v. Mahomes are going to be fun battles for the next decade.

Of course, Mayfield v. Goff in all those Super Bowls is going to be a treat, too.

I guess we can't expect to escape all the bad luck in just one season.

Total crap. Baker wins 7 weekly awards to 1 for Barkley, how is this even close??

New York Giants - 5-11 with Saquon Barkley starting

Cleveland Browns - 6-7 with Baker Mayfield starting

He set the NFL record for passing touchdowns by a rookie in 2.5 fewer games than the previous record holders, Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and Super Bowl Champion Russell Wilson.

By comparison sake, Saquon finished 2nd in total rushing yards (1,307), and 5th in rushing touchdowns (11). The 1,307 is 21st in rookie records and the 11 is t-6th.

Let's talk about the best mock draft of all time...That's right, I got Barkley AND Mayfield in the draft Lyman hosted last season. lol! The clear cut top two rookies no matter how ya slice it.

Ahhh the beauty of having two picks in the top 4....And more importantly, the beauty of knowing ahead of time that the guys picking 2nd and 3rd weren't gonna take Baker Mayfield. lol! ..Dorsey didn't have such luxury, but I think he did just fine with the Mayfield/Chubb combo anyway.

As far as that Pepsi award goes, I'm not gonna fret over it....Barkley had a great rookie season. But they will announce the real OROY on Saturday night.
