Looking forward to 2019, Browns NFL Rookie Draft

On the QB debate, I wouldn't rule out a veteran. Could be surprised, but I'd expect a lot of activity in free agency with QBs. Snag a Ryan Fitzpatrick from Tampa (experience with Monken) and you have a guarantee behind Baker instead of a project.

You mean Stanton isn't a "guarantee"?

I agree that Fitz makes sense. Problem is, he will be expensive, and after just paying $16M to Tyrod for very minimal results, I'd be a little surprised to see Cleveland go that direction again...

Another thing. Kitchens already pointed out that Todd Monken will have to learn all the new terminology of Freddie's offense. So that would put Fitz in the same boat...

Here's your pending free agents, to say nothing of potential shake-ups with veteran trades ahead of the draft.

Stanton was actually pretty clutch in Arizona when he was called into action (9-4 as a starter). Problem is/was, that was in limited spurts of action over four seasons.

We can eliminate five out those seventeen names simply by saying, "been there, done that".

Six, technically. Josh Johnson was a Brown for a hot second. There was a pretty good Joe Thomas story about him having to introduce the other players on the team to him in the huddle.

    How about Mark Sanchez?

Mayber Baker could teach him how to QB.

But this seems like the perfect backup to Baker Mayfield:

The list of F/A QB's is underwhelming......I'm not seeing any vets to get all fired up about, that's for sure.

    Mark Sanchez? No thanks.

I'd rather see us ride with Stanton for this year, and try to develope a younger guy for the future role....Finley, McSorley, or Thorson maybe.

Is Matt Schaub really on that list?o_O

I may be in the minority here, but I'm for keeping Taylor and drafting a rookie to groom.

The problem is, besides being overpriced quite a bit, Tyrod is an unrestricted free agent...He wants to play, and will likely find opportunities to do so...I see no chance of retaining Tyrod Taylor in Cleveland.

I agree that Taylor may not want to stay in Cleveland. That said, given the list of "potentially" available FA veterans I feel like Taylor is the best likely option at this point.

Okay. Well as long as he is okay with a huge pay cut, and the knowledge that he's not playing unless the starter gets hurt, I guess he's a possibility.

FWIW: I thought Tyrod was just as overpaid as Brock Osweiler was, when he was here...Seriously. Other than his ability to run very well, what does Tyrod bring to the table? He's terrible.

    Experience.

    Sanchez can bring that.
