What an amazing kicker Adam Vinateri is, 46 years old and still booming 61 yard FG in the NFL, he will definitely make the Hall of Fame.

The surge the Eagles have had in spite of crippling injuries on their defense should have Doug Pederson in the thick of the coach of the year conversation.

Nick Foles in the playoffs, I am not sure if the Bears would have been better off throwing the game against the Vikings to keep those Eagles out, the Vikings are a hot mess right now and the Eagles are firecracker hot. The Bears will definitely have their hands full and if the Bear offense doesn't control the clock, they very well could lose at home next week.

Win or lose I’d rather the Bears face the better team.

If you’re gonna win in the playoffs you need to beat legit teams that belong there.

Bears did the right thing. They stomped out a division foe.

It's Nagy all day. I still think Doug got robbed last year though despite McVay backing things up this year.

The Bears defense is on fire right now. Nick Foles will be lucky to represent the human race next Monday.

Nagy got the biggest possible gift a coach can be given with Khalil Mack. Not that I don’t like him or the job he’s done...but this isn’t the same team without that trade or without Vic Fangio running the defense.

I think Pete Carroll deserves some credit. Can’t stand the guy but I thought the Seahawks were in for a down year and possibly facing a retool or rebuild soon. They played a lot better than I expected and will give the Cowboys a really tough game next Saturday.

I would have to give the Coach of the year award to Nagy as well. The Bears over-achieved expectations this year, they are really a year ahead of schedule imo but the Mack trade gave them that extra oomph to really kick start their defense and help them win some games that last year, they most likely would have lost.

Either way, Nagy did a hell of a job this year regardless. a close 2nd, is probably the Chargers coach.

I was at the game the last time the Eagles came to Soldier Field for a playoff game.

Didn’t end well for the home team. Home next week is different.

Lynn probably would have been a shoe in if the Chargers had won the division.

I forgot to post this sooner but here was my take on teams with the best shot to win it all.

    1. Saints - a top team all year and easiest road IMO
    2. Chiefs - best team in the AFC but since they can't play the Texans in their first game they are going to get a tough opponent no matter what IMO.
    3. Patriots - they get a bump for what could be a favourable postseason schedule if they get the Texans and then possibly host the championship game. Plus Tom Brady could wake up when it matters.
    4. Chargers - they will have their hands full with a road game vs a Ravens team they recently lost to and then a road game vs the Pats (likely) or Chiefs.
    5. Bears - if the Bears win vs the Eagles they get the Rams who I like them against so they get a bump ahead of them.
    6. Rams - they are trending downwards but have tons of talent and a bye.
    7. Ravens - Jackson needs to evolve quickly or the Chargers, who already saw him, and the Patriots at least are sure to figure him out quickly. The defense and his dynamic are real but he needs to move up another level.
    8. Colts - these guys have won 9 of the last 10 and should easily beat the Texans who beat nobody good.
    9. Eagles - the Bears game should be a good test for Foles and the offense while the defense might not have to be pushed too hard. They have a decent chance of coming out of that game but they would have to face the Saints got thoroughly thrashed them. The good news is that Eagles played that game before they put their things in order.
    10. Seahawks - The Seahawks have been here before. The team has changed but Pete has developed a run game and needs the pass game to be on point. If he does they can make a run.
    11. Cowboys - the Cowboys could probably be higher but they got bumped down a bit due to some more seasoned or hot teams getting a bump. Consistency will be an issue vs the better teams.
    12. Houston is overrated. Beat nobody good when they were good. Running game is wearing down and Watson doesn't flash enough. I really don't like their colts matchup. Easiest game to pick.

The NFL officiating was horrible this year, and that's undeniable....

This is a thread for random opinions, so mine is fairly simple. Why the hell doesn't the NFL have an "override" in place, just in case every ref on the field is an idiot???

It's absurd that the obvious P.I. on Robey-Coleman wasn't called, but it's even more absurd that NOTHING could be done about it.

I have one theory on why/how this could have happened.

I saw a picture taken from (the end zone) that showed both players after the contact at the six yard line.

Behind them was the ref looking very intently at both guys from around the 15 yard line.

Did he not even know that the ball was even in the area ???

Not an excuse. Just wondering. How the f*** do you miss a call like that !!!

Oh. And for what it's worth ?? The entire LA sports media missed the call too !!!!!! o_O:lol:

It's Sean McVay's 33rd birthday. Bill Belichick is 66. We'll either have the oldest or the youngest head coach ever to win a Super Bowl... just sayin.

sounds like something out of Star Wars. I like it. To me, NE and Brady look to win the SB they lost last year to the Eagles. I expect a blowout of huge proportions and Brady going insane for 4 or 5 TDs!

    That's bold.

I, like you am pulling for old age and treachery. All that football experience at the controls against a second year thirty-something HC ?? The Rams are good, but their not that good.

I would be pulling for damn near any team to beat the Patriots. I would love for the Rams to beat the crap out of the Patriots. Had more faith in the Saints to be honest, but I'm going for the Rams all the way. I look for a big play from the Rams ST to decide the game. Rams can score with any team, the front 7 of the Rams is damn good. Rams can shut down the Patriots run game, will they is another question. I know statistically they weren't good against the run, but they shut down the Saints run game for the most part and I think they have a better run game then the Pats. BB is the best in the business for good reason, he'll take Gurley and Cooks away so it'll be up to Anderson and Woods to keep the Rams offense moving. And Goff needs to be patient. Belicheck has 2 weeks to prepare, so Rams need to show something new.
