I got no clue what was going on exactly. Honestly it shouldn't matter anyways. This was after the game should have been over.
I’ve watched it 10 times now and I’m 99% certain it’s not tipped. But I also don’t see PI. I don’t see the defender engaging the receiver so much as I see the receiving running into the defenders space. Probably will have a better look at it on All22 but from the TV replay....I wouldn’t call that PI.
Normally I wouldn't care all that much about which team won the AFC game. But now I have to root for the Chiefs just so we can all enjoy a rematch of that amazing game they played in the regular season.
Yeah, I jumped on right at the same time you did to comment on that play. Still shaking my head over it.
Personally im glad though. I want a Rams Chiefs SB so we're halfway there. My only other thought right now is how the hell is the Safety market so soft these days? We just witnessed some horrible safety play in this game. Joyner's play on the ball on that deep completion to Ginn was just abysmal. I've seen first hand this season just what a difference high quality Safety play can make to a Defense. Really don't get how much safeties struggle to get paid in FA.
When Thomas makes the motion to turn around but Johnson holds him to keep him from doing so is when I believe the flag should come out. 5 yards for holding the receiver, automatic first down.
My memory gets mixed up sometimes but, if I remember correctly. weren't a lot of you guys down on Adrian after his rookie year? I only ask because I was pretty high on Amos coming out in the draft.
I wouldn’t call that a hold though. The receiver turns up field right into the defender. A defender is entitled to hold his ground in that situation.
His rookie year I loved him...thought the sky was the limit. Then he regressed and eventually got benched. It took an injury early last season for him to get back on the field and he’s been amazing in my opinion.
Hold his ground, yes, but he still can't keep the receiver from turning back towards the ball to find it by wrapping his arms around him.
Putting aside the fact of the Bears CAP situation, and that i think Callahan should get paid first....im really not sure if the Bears will pay him for the reason i just mentioned. If they could sign him to a very good value deal, kinda like they did with Trevathan in FA, id be all for it. But i just have a feeling Amos is gonna walk. He may wish he hadn't though.
I don't think he regressed too much year 2 but they signed a vet and didn't give him a chance to get his job back after a small slump.
Let Callahan walk...sign Amos. Athletic slot nickel corners are easier to find than good safeties...and they don’t have to be as technically sound to make an impact.
I thought he had a really good rookie year. Maybe you mean his 2nd/3rd years Tim? Cos his play dropped a lot during that time. He's been far better this year though.
That hits a big part of why the Falcons collapsed this season. The DB play was supposed to be a key strength of the defense. But one starting safety was lost for the season in week one, and the other starter was lost for the season in week three. The difference it made was obvious.
That's likely it. I just had a vague memory of some people on the Bears board wanting his head at some point or another.
