If any of you guys in the Cleveland area are dumb enough to venture out to the IX Center for the Mid-America boat show during the forecasted winter storm this Saturday, swing by the Lyman Boat Owners Association's display (it's right next to where the zip line loads/unloads). I got sucked into working at the display from Noon until 6:00pm. Would love to meet any of you. I'll have one of my boats on display.
Probably smart, I had a coaching clinic in Columbus and it took me 3:20 to get home... Usually takes a little under 2 hours.
Getting there wasn't a problem. Getting home tonight was. Now I only have to figure out how to drag my boat home on Tuesday. Hopefully, the roads won't be too bad by then.
Really feel for New Orleans fans today. Yes, Browns were screwed worse than any other team in the regular season this year, but we didn't have the refs keep us out of a Super Bowl.
SOMETHING has got to be done about the officiating this off season. Either a harsher grading scale and punishment...as I'm pretty sure this crew just officiated their last playoff game ever... There is also talk of current technology available that would all but take out many of the calls the human refs make now. Saving time by utilizing this system, the other calls that are "human" could be made into a replay booth call. Things that were not reviewable/challenge-able in the past could now be fixable in a real game. It needs to be done, we can't continue like this. Hiring full time referees was supposed to fix some of the issues and it has gotten worse. They went from 21 full time guys 2017 to 24 full time guys in 2018 and it's getting progressively worse. I don't have an answer, but a multi-billion company should...
In honor of the Rams making the SB the PD has this on their web site...... https://www.cleveland.com/expo/life...the-super-bowlbound-franchise-began-here.html
That non-call on the pass interference in the NO/LA game was a game changer. I understand ref mistakes like you can't change the fact a whistle has been blown and the play shouldn't have been whistled over. But I've seen flags picked up after discussions and "there is no penalty on the play" declared. So after everybody, including the refs saw the blatant penalty up on the jumbotron, why the hell can't the refs throw a flag and admit they missed it? The next play hadn't started yet. WTF!!!!!
