i didn't know it was a play. interesting. would love to see who could top Nicholson as Col. Nathan R. Jessup. ahaha. Did the person playing him yell "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH?" hahahahaha
"there is no way, no way, you could come from my loins."first thing im gonna do when i get him is punch your Momma in the mouth!" freaking classic ! Loved Jackie Gleason as a kid and watched him on the Honeymooners reruns and one of my favorite movies and the first movie I watched in black and white on ABC Saturday Night Million Dollar Movie - the Hustler !
correct...A friend asked me that one and I had no idea. My guess was "Undertaker".... Interesting side note on that movie. Jerry Reed wrote the song EAST BOUND AND DOWN in one night. He had promised the director Hal Needham that he would have something ready by the end of filming. As that neared Hal asked him about it, and Jerry told him he'd have something for him in the morning. Reed worked all night on the song. He showed up the next day and performed it..... Upon getting no immediate response, Reed said, "I can change it if you want. To which Needham replied, "If you change a f--king thing, I'll kill you."...
The character of "Junior" wasn't even in the original SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT script. That was all Jackie Gleason's idea. He wanted somebody in the car with him to play off of....I'd say that was a good call....Also the scene where he was dragging the toilet paper through the dining area. Completely Gleason's idea...
the actor that plays Junior - Mike Henry, was a prison guard who congratulates Paul Crewe (Reynolds) on his win over the guards in THE LONGEST YARD.
Gleason was a great comedic actor. His later movies near the end of his life-the TOY and Nothing in Common, with a newcomer named Tom Hanks, kind of put a damper on his brilliant career for me.
Back in the 70's when CB radios were so popular, we had a friend who was going into his family's funeral home business. His handle? "Digger" Today, there is a funeral home director who owns a 30 foot Lyman boat. The name of the boat? "Wake Maker"
Yeah well everything loses a little steam in a high school production LOL. But they did a pretty good job of it. Stephen Lang played Jessup originally on Broadway.
In THE SHINING, what magazine is Jack Torrance seen reading in the lobby of the Overlook Hotel, before he gets hired?
Not the type of mag you'd commonly see laying around a hotel lobby...Nobody is really sure what Stanley Kubrick was trying to convey here. Makes for a good trivia question though.
in the movie MASH - what was the nickname of the Doctor, who formerly played in the NFL, for the MASH team in the big football game at the end of the movie ?
no chance. they would be crying left and right about it and somehow blaming Trump for it. the book MASH was written in the late 60's, so the country wasn't so PC and having their panties in a bunch over every little thing.
