lol! I guess so. Especially if he thought he'd survive another horrific season. Don't you honestly feel that a known NFL QB "expert" such as Hue Jackson should have been able to fairly easily identify which QB truly gave him the best chance to win on Sunday? It was Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield competing from the start of minicamps.... Honestly, I don't think Hue knew....As I mentioned in my original post on the matter, I truly believe Hue was exposed here. Hue didn't have much to work with his first couple seasons, but year three was different. He had great weapons right under his nose. Dorsey loaded him up. Hue just failed in every way a HC can fail...
..And Carlos Hyde... That's no excuse....It's a coach's job to put the best players on the field. Free agents, draft picks, UDFA's or otherwise...
{sigh} Hue had a coach, who (apparently) was on the staff as a condition of Hue's employment, that was charged with calling plays to include personnel. I think your hatred for this guy is over riding your ability to even consider that there just might have been some underlying conditions in place that contributed to the very thing that is causing your hatred. That said, I'll depart this conversation.
What is this, Football 101? Keep sighing Lym...I don't hate anybody ...Just because I don't agree with you, doesn't mean I'm not seeing the picture clearly. You want to make all these excuses for Hue, and that's up to you. Nobody follows this team closer than I do. I'm not blind. The entire spectrum has been taken into account, and it's my determination that Hue was a terrible HC in every way...There is nothing you can say that will change my opinion on Hue Jackson. I'm well aware of all surrounding circumstances.
lol! There's no question, he looks like a guy that we just went up and plucked out of the Dawg Pound...
I checked this out today and tweeted it, but I just wanted to say, I was floored to see all the input and data all conglomerated together. It's all-inclusive and leaves no stone un-covered. My jaw dropped. Great stuff, Tim.
That's quite a claim! And one that I will have to differ with you. I know quite a few people who would put both of us to shame.
lol! Why do ya gotta be like that? It wasn't meant to be taken literal....Just trying get the point across that I was well aware of everything that was going on. At least, as aware as a fan that lives 220 miles from Berea can be.... You had suggested that I was blinded by my hatred for Hue.
Lym, We went round and round the entire offseason about Hue Jackson. I was very clear that I wanted him gone. And I went into great detail as to why. You were very clear that you thought he should stay on as our HC, and gave your reasons. To this day however, you will not admit that you were wrong in any way about Hue Jackson. (sigh)..You'd rather accuse me of being "blind to the big picture", then consider the notion that you may have been mistaken about HJ. The ONLY thing Hue accomplished in 2018 as far as I'm concerned, was totally reassure me that I was 100% right. He absolutely should have been shown the exit long before we got to the 2018 season, and every single thing he touched, backed that up completely. That's not even debatable IMO..... It's comical to me that I even have to defend my stance on this guy. I can't think of a coach in football history, at ANY level, that deserved more criticism than Hue Jackson..
Feel free to chime in on the subject Joe...Evidently, I'm out on a limb here. lol! I'd love to hear from all the others that think Hue is simply a poor victim of circumstance completely beyond his control...
Last thing I'll say on the subject. I wanna be clear. My argument was never that the Browns were good those first two season after the purge. However, there really is no excuse for 1-31..Hue linked us to the Lions as the worst EVER. A record that can't be beat. I can't say why that pissed me off more than most fans, but it seems like it did... I can't remember the exact number, but we had 4th quarter leads or ties in like 12 times or so in that span. There were something like 6 OT games....Managing just one win speaks for itself. Hue couldn't find victory if it smacked him in the face... Hell I could have coached the Browns to half a dozen wins in that frame. lol! Of course, bear in mind, I was a youth league flag football head coach for two years. So, I kinda know what I'm talkin about...
