I thought Kevin Stefanski did ok with a horrible O-line switching OC makes no sense if they don't fix the O-line Hue Jackson huh? don't know if that's a good move or not
Not a big deal for Zimmer he knows how the game is played he's in a contract year, now Tricky Ricky is nervous cause it's same old same old why does Ziggy Wilf seem like he's under some kinda spell lol
The Brown's interview Kevin Stefanski for the Head Coaching job interesting wonder if he's ready to be a HC he might be Head Coaching material
Thursday’s press conference from Vikings coach Mike Zimmer was eventful, for a variety of reasons. Beyond vowing to restore the “nasty” to a team that allowed its expectations to be set too high for 2018 (and that seemed to believe it would be far easier to get back to the final four than it was), explaining the very real connection between the passing of Tony Sparano and the team’s overall struggles, and discussing what Zimmer learned from the misfired hiring of John DeFilippo to be the successor to offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, Zimmer shrugged at the fact that his contract is set to expire after the 2019 season. He shouldn’t. With no security beyond 2019, Zimmer necessarily will have a harder time getting his first choice to run the offense for the coming season. While the candidate surely would be offered a multi-year deal, stepping into what seems to be a one-year, up-or-out mandate is hardly ideal. The Vikings can fix this by giving Zimmer an extension now. The fact that Zimmer doesn’t have one, while largely downplayed by the media, threatens to hover over the franchise in a negative way throughout the offseason and into 2019. Yes, plenty of teams have been in this posture. But given that Zimmer is a defensive expert and given the critical importance of finding someone who can take the various pieces of the Minnesota offense and make it all work immediately (even if he won’t be able to meet with his players until April), the intense pressure coupled with the very real prospect of not only being a one-year resident of Minnesota but also the linchpin for the ongoing employment of the rest of the coaching staff makes it a job that offensive coaches with choices won’t be included to choose to accept. (PFT)
Then sign him up to an extension so he can get good OC and tell this dark cloud to take a hike, the dissing of Adam Theilen ( sp) WTF it's a damn shame he's not in the Pro Bowl
Fixing the O-line is the no.1 priority who gives a flying frack who's the next OC is going to be,he will fail if you don't fix it I'm so sick of the same old same old time to do your job Tricky Ricky...cause this Vikings fan refuses to chase the shiny object
It's a real mystery how Tricky Ricky still has a job and what kind of voodoo spell has he cast on Ziggy Wilf lol
I feel your frustration... maybe Wilf is to blame here also, because he's the one who does the hiring and firing of the GM's. Apparently, Wilf has a good relationship with Spielman and I don't see anything changing on that front any time soon. Cousins needs to step up and learn how to play in the big games under the spotlights and the micr-scope. He has flat out blown it in big, must win, games. He puts up some real good numbers over-all, but falls way short when its go time in a huge game. Fixing the O-line will go a long way in helping Cousins relax more... I think that has been a problem, he's just not to comfortable in games against teams with a good front 7 on defense. Anyway, I hope for the best this off-season and the Vikings can restore a little magic again... just like when Case Keenum was running the show. Running-backs staying healthy is a must also. Cousins did have a large work load when the Vikings couldn't move the ball on the ground.
Kevin Stefanski is going to be the OC if they can hire Joe Philbin to be the O-line coach might be a good thing cause the Packers O-line has been pretty descent, now it's just wait and see what moves they will make in fa and the draft GO VIKINGS
2019 list of Vikings scheduled opponents... Home Games: Chicago Bears Green Bay Packers Detroit Lions Philadelphia Eagles Washington Redskins Oakland Raiders Denver Broncos Atlanta Falcons Away Games: Chicago Bears Green Bay Packers Detroit Lions New York Giants Dallas Cowboys Los Angeles Chargers Kansas City Chiefs Seattle Seahawks
The Redskins will looking to crush Capt.Kirk the last four games are very tough, the Vikings will need a good start division games home and away that's rough and always tough the Vikings vrs the Eagles seems like we play them every year and it's always tough....thanks for the info
He must have, I think, or they wouldn't have shelled out $83M. It really looked like the QB was the position to target, the missing piece, but as we saw, a lot of other things can and will and did come into play. I think Kirk has the potential, but he will need a good line that can stay together and healthy. Kirk himself better be a man that learns from his mistakes because he flat out stunk in some of the bigger, must win situations.

Minnesota could also receive compensatory picks leading up to the draft. Below are the Vikings draft picks: First-round pick (No. 18) Second-round pick Third-round pick Fourth-round pick Sixth-round pick The Vikings fifth-round pick was traded to the Denver Broncos in a trade for quarterback Trevor Siemian and the seventh-round pick was traded to the New York Giants this season in a trade for offensive lineman Brett Jones. The first round of the draft is set for April 25 in Nashville.
Whatever happened to him I forgot about him couldn't he replace Remmers cause he was awful and needed to sit on the bench,oh the Vikings signed Gary Kubiak as an offensive advisory role what does that mean? and his son Klint Kubiak is the Vikings qb coach don't a lot about him hope he can bring out the best in Kirk Cousins
EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings have added a Super Bowl-winning coach to their staff. Minnesota announced Monday that Gary Kubiak will be the team’s assistant head coach/offensive advisor going forward. Kubiak spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons in Denver as a senior personnel advisor for the Broncos. Here are five things to know about Kubiak: 1. He’s got four rings Kubiak was a three-time Super Bowl champion while with the Broncos, including as Denver’s head coach in a 24-10 win in Super Bowl 50 against Carolina. Kubiak also won back-to-back Super Bowls in 1997 and 1998 when he was the Broncos offensive coordinator. Denver’s offense ranked first in yards and points per game in 1997, and the Broncos were second in yards and third in points per game in 1998. He earned his first Super Bowl ring in 1994 as the quarterbacks coach with the San Francisco 49ers. 2. Plenty of experience Kubiak has nearly 10 years of head coaching experience in the NFL and has an 82-75 overall regular-season record. He was the head coach in Houston for nearly eight seasons from 2006-2013 and went 61-64 while leading the Texans to a pair of AFC South titles and two playoff appearances. Kubiak then spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons as the head coach in Denver, compiling a 21-11 record. 3. The Kubiak clan Kubiak’s three sons are all involved in football, including his oldest son, Klint, who has joined the Vikings as the quarterbacks coach. Klint spent the previous three seasons with the Broncos as an offensive assistant and quarterbacks coach. Kubiak’s son Klay is the head coach of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory school in Dallas, and his other son, Klein, is a scout for the Broncos. 4. A solid playing career Kubiak played in 119 career games for the Broncos after being an eighth-round pick by Denver in the 1983 NFL Draft. Kubiak, who made five starts, completed 173 of 298 career passes (58.1 percent) for 1,920 yards with 14 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He was 3-2 as a starting quarterback with the Broncos. 5. Surrounded by legends Kubiak has consistently been associated with legendary quarterbacks during his time in the NFL. He was John Elway’s backup for nine seasons in Denver and was later Elway’s offensive coordinator with the Broncos from 1995 to 1998. Elway was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004. Kubiak was then hired by Elway as Denver’s head coach in 2015. The former teammates linked up to win a Super Bowl with Peyton Manning under center. Manning ranks first in league history with 539 touchdown passes and is second all-time with 71,940 passing yards, and will be a surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer. Kubiak also coached Hall of Famer Steve Young in 1994 with the 49ers. Young put together the best season of his career under Kubiak as he threw for 3,969 yards with 35 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 70.3 percent of his passes. Young’s 1994 passer rating of 112.8 ranks 10th all-time for a single season. The top nine ratings have all come since 2004. (Vikings.com)
That's pretty impressive maybe just maybe some of the Kubiak magic rubs off on the Vikings they could use it,still waiting for them to be an elite football team
Kubiac was the offensive coach for the Ravens when they won the SB. Flacco played impressively. Maybe he can get Cousins to play up to his ability.
