^^^It's kinda funny when you look at that...The team with the most cap space, and the team with the least cap space, might be the two best fits for LeVeon....

Though I would not count out the Jets. They have the money and a major need as well.

With Baltimore losing today, that does it for the AFCN this season...

I will say that a few of John Harbaugh's decision's this afternoon had me scratching my head. Mainly opting for the 50 yard FG attempt in windy conditions, instead of going for it on 4th and 1, when they were trailing 12-3 in the second half....

Ravens missed some golden opportunities. Settling for FG's gets ya beat against a guy like Phillip Rivers....

I laughed when I saw them setting up for the FG. Couldn't believe that gutless call actually happened at that point. Meanwhile, the Chargers scored a TD on 4th down later in the game, because they knew better than to settle for FGs

I really don't believe he will get a $14M per year offer in free agency. I think he will fire his agent when this is all said and done.

So, what would you do as a player at that point?

Option A: Colts offer 4 years/11.5M per year
Option B: Jets offer 4 years/13M per year

If he's all about the money, then it's obvious...but looking at each situation, man it would be hard to go to New York when you have the Colts and Andrew Luck making you an offer. I also believe the Colts offensive line is far far superior.

Completely agree...He can make up the difference in endorsements after the SB win.

To me it's pretty obvious. He held out an entire year because he wants the big money and he wants a big chunk guaranteed in case he gets hurt. This guy is all about the $$$$$$$$. Whoever coughs up the best offer, but the better team wins if the offers are "reasonably" close.

He might choose a shorter term, in order to prove he is worth more...which will lose him even more money in the long run.

I just think that Bell will come out looking and feeling like an Ass when this is all said and done. I think he lost millions of dollars by turning down the Steelers offer.

He did lose but the Steelers weren't going to give him the money or the guaranteed chunk he wants. It's all about the future and putting it in the bank. A "small set back" now means big paycheck when he's a FA.

They offered him $14.3M per year with $20M in guarantees in year one alone($10M signing and $10M roster bonuses), yes that's $6M more in 2018 than the franchise tag just in bonuses, by far the biggest offer for a RB ever. Plus he would have gotten his $780K salary. Over the first two years, Bell would have made over $30M. Then they made another offer that would have paid him over $15M per year over 3 years, he turned that down also.

I will actually be surprised if he sees $25M over the next 2 years...I think someone will give him a prove it $13M contract, then it will be back to normal RB offers in the 2020 off season. My prediction on the subject...

What kind of short prove it deal will he find better than 1 year, 14M that the franchise tag was offering?

Regardless, I have to agree with Irish on this one......Bell's agent is going to get the boot when the dust settles.

  14. TopDawg Legend

Even if Bell does find a team to pay a little bit more, which I doubt, he's not making up the $14m he lost in 2018....

I still maintain what i said months ago, it is a stupid idea for so many reasons. I am referencing Bell sitting out of course. Most clubs will black list this guy and even though his talent is supreme, the MOMENT he shows signs of slowing down then he will be gone from the league. The owners are a massive clique and wont forget how he acted. His attitude and approach for now are tolerable because of his skill set but the moment that declines to only an above average level he will be out. and at that point i would guess that he loses 1-2 average contracts worth of money at the tail end of what would of been his career. Which i would wager might not last until 31 at this rate. But who knows i guess

He won't, that's my whole point!

BUT, the best deal in his feeble mind might be to take the highest offer of a one year contract he gets in order to get the money he feels he deserves on a long term contract. He is delusional on how much he effects an offense. That is most likely based on the Steelers perfection of their system, similar to New England. Tweaking a system that works every year is so much more efficient than using a new system every year. The Steelers have proven time and again, they can plug in players to get a similar result. As much as I cannot stand BR for personal reasons, he is the one piece of the machine that has proven needing in that offense...Lose a head strong WR? Just plug in the next man up, lose a RB to injury or greed, not problem, we have 3 more where he came from...Lose Ben to injury? Season is in jeopardy. That's why I hope the fans get what they are wishing for and replace Ben now...start over fresh...that's what you guys need. ;)

Now don't take my money arguments as a gouge to the eye of Bell's talent. His talent has been on display. He is a top RB talent in this league...but there are dozens of others with talent that never get to showcase it because they aren't fortunate enough to be on a team like the Steelers.

The point to my argument is... Other teams that have not experienced the usefulness of a RB with a stat line like Bell WILL over pay for his services, but they also are not blinded to the money aspect of the current RB wage situation. The Steelers for some reason believed if they didn't pay Bell an exhorbatant amount of money, they would lose him. However, I don't remember any rumors of teams attempting to trade for him at those types of salaries either.

When he hits the market, the market will be what ever two teams push his salary to be...No other RB has ever surpassed the $10M/year mark..I believe he will, but I don't believe they will push it up 150% over market value for a RB either.

I have even heard rumors that he will sign with Pittsburgh after all this bullshit it over.

Wouldn't surprise me, if they are the top bidders.

But it would be totally messed up trying to get onboard with him again. I believe that If he played last season we would have at least won one more game and made the playoffs.
