I wasn't around for live game time and I'm not about to re-live it now in the game thread, in fact I probably won't be back on until draft time. But I had to make sure there was a thread on this, and no LAOJoe, if it was or wasn't tipped is fucking irrelevant (and congrats to your Eagles, they deserved that win). This guys sucks. Sucks. SUCKS. I am half convinced we now have a "Curse of Robbie Gould" and we'll never have another reliable kicker until we burn a goat in his honor or re-sign him or something. Yeah, the offense could have been more productive. The defense could have not given up a TD on that last drive. There's blame all over this team from the GM to the HC to the STers. But at the end of the day, 43 yards is the difference between going home and going on. And we went fucking home because a kicker WE ALL KNOW IS CRAP is still on the roster. You can fire Chris Tabor the day after. Of course icing would work on him, he's a mental midget. I knew he would cost us a game in the playoffs, I said this several times. You all fucking knew it could and would happen. This isn't fucking surprising. And the least surprising thing will be when his happy ass is still on the roster come next September.
I agree he does suck and I even noted that if he had more distance on his leg he'd have been able to kick over the block. He honestly doesn't deserve to be the first option on a roster. I don't think he'll outright be cut because of the contract but I think a young, cheap guy could be tried and put on the PS they cut him for a vet halfway through the season once he inevitably sucks. I don't think the Bears would keep him for a playoff push or run if he was a liability at that point. And thank you for the congrats. If it wasn't us I was cheering for you in the NFC. I love the grit on your team.
Thank you for making this obligatory post so I didn’t have to. Pace should have rostered a second kicker if he was afraid to cut parkey for cap reasons. As you said we all KNEW this guy was a huge liability coming into this and here we are. There is just no excuse. We wasted a 12-4 season because we kept a kicker on the roster who proved REPEATEDLY that he had the yips and could. Of be relied upon. What is that 6 doinks? 7? 8 of you count the double doink as two? Christ.
Funny you mention Christ, because Parkey is really religious. They always thank Him, but never blame Him. It’s about time someone said it... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1334156/amp/NFL-player-blames-God-dropped-touchdown.html
I have the double banger end zone view but I get “file too large”. What’s up w that baby and Tim and whoever? It’s a 28 second video from a phone.
1- F off and die Parkey, i hope you sustain a non life threatening injury this offseason that means you can't kick a field goal ever again. 2- Eagles fans can take their blocked FG talk and shove it right up their ass. I don't give a F about your efforts to feel like your team earned it, the Bears handed you it, deal with it. The contact was absolutely minimal. If Parkey has a weak leg as suggested then how did he hit so high up the post from 40+ on a blocked kick? Explain that one smart guys. Bottom line if he puts one down the middle for a change Bears win. 3- F off and die Parkey. 4- F you Pace. And not even just for the Gould decision you prick. You knew this Kicker was a fail. We all knew he would kill us at some point. But you kept him anyway. When your HC is going for first half 2pointers cos he doesn't trust his Kicker to make a XP(as happened this season) then its time for a new kicker, end of. But Pace didn't do it. Thru a probable combination on money and pride he stuck with Parkey and it ended our season. So F you Pace, this is on you just as much as Parkey. As a rule i tend to hate kickers anyway.....but i really hate the ones who bring god into it. Fucking morons.
I know you're trying to be classy and your intentions are not malevolent but it comes off as condescension "the grit on your team". Fuck that, we lost. No moral victories. Your team is better than ours but I won't be rooting for you. I hate Alshon too much. And Jim Schwartz and Michael Bennett and Jenkins. Hope the Saints slaughter you guys.
you guys do know the ball was tipped, right? not saying parkey was innocent here, but the ball did change directions. in the situation where it went off the upright and crossbar - that tipped matters !
Shuttup. Go away. The kick was missed by the kicker. Hard to imagine a tipped ball still carried 43 yards and bounced halfway up off the upright for a guy who by his own admission has one of the weakest legs in the NFL.
Just like in golf for a a pull hook goes lower every fn time , it was never going in regardless with the line it started ...kick the fn thing high enough and over the center azz and you don't have issues.
at first i thought it was in. then it kept going to the left. even after it went off the crossbar, i thought it bounced in. game of inches. and my golf swing has a terrible slice with a driver, so it's going in another fairway over regardless of how low it starts. it gains height and hooks into a fairway quite easily.
Just because other posters have come on and been hostile doesn't mean you need to treat us the same way as them. It only comes across as condescending because you are upset and read it as such. I've been saying good things about the Bears for the last year even before Mack and before the Eagles matchup.
Congratulations. No one here cares. Don't play the classy routine. You're the same fan that bitched, whined, and moaned like a little girl when the Saints ran up the score on the Eagles. It's easy to be "classy" when your team wins.
