The only problem is, if Mike Brown does hire him, I don't think Hue will be good enough to achieve the mediocrity required to hold onto the Bengals job for the long haul..
Well that is a lot of talent, it doesnt even add in guys who will likely be traded or let go i.e. flacco. I would take a guard like Iupati at the ravens, solid vet, can pull and is a straight mauler. I think we need guys like him with what we are building I am pretty sure we resign CJ and i hope we dont go too nuts on that contract but i still personally value the fuck out of a ILB who can lead the D. Dee ford is great, i don't see Clowney leaving, he is still very good and young. Secondary looks good too. Next few months should be fun 2k
I have to wonder where this guy gets his information. Currently, the Haslams have three operational direct reports: DePodesta, Dorsey and the Head Coach. Everyone else reports to one of those three. That's not significantly different than any other franchise that doesn't have one person as General Manager / Head Coach combined. He is right about people skills. But I would think that applies to every other franchise, as well.
Agreed. I think that's more Mr. Ruiter's opinion than actual fact... What I don't want, is for us to hire some staunch, stuck in his ways, unflexable coach. The my way or the highway guy, which is exactly what I've heard about Mike McCarthy. I absolutely want a great communicator that understands the importance of flexing his system to best fit the talent on hand....
I can't wait to see if he can do it over a 16 game schedule. People have to remember, he didn't have the season Saquon had...but that's because he didn't start until week 7..."But he played in the other 6 games", yes he played, but he only got a handful of carries...Over the 6 games, not per game...That's why Dorsey finally sent Hyde away, because our inept coaching staff refused to use Chubb. This could be a really good class of RBs when it's all said and done 8 years from now!!
Before he rejects any more $16M per year contract offers, LeVeon Bell should take note that two of those rookies weren't even drafted....Just saying.
It will be interesting to see how he handles being the biggest bust of 2019... He will get his wish and enter the free agent market in 2019... Then he will sign the biggest RB contract in the league, but not at $14.5M per year that the Steelers offered. It will be a team in need of star power to energize their fan base that has cash money. Someone like the Coltsk wanting to supplement their playoff loss, or Jets or Bills wanting to help their young QBs with "the best RB in the league", except they don't have the best running philosophy in any of those cities like the Steelers have in Pittsburgh. He'll get them a 1,000 yards, but end up 10th in the league overall. He should be getting a contract around $10M per year, but he will get over paid at around $12-13M per year because he did what every other running back in their system does.
Well being the Colts like to pass and Bell is a pretty damn good receiver out of the backfield he will thrive with the colts if that is indeed where he ends up. Who knows where he ends up what if Brown gets traded to a team and Bell decides hey I am going to go to team x for less so we can stick it to the Steelers.
I wouldn't be surprised if JAX takes a run at Bell, out side of that I agree that either the Jets or Bills would be willing to overpay for a RB.
Are you really going to put Marlon Mack in the same category as Le'Veon Bell? You sound like a agitated Steelers fan... If Bell were still in the plans, he would be the best RB in the NFL..HANDS DOWN...every team would be upgraded if they had him...Since he's not
The Colts have a good RB, and would be very doubtful to unload that kind of money on a player when they have a thirty million dollar QB.
The Colts have a good team, period. But they don't have a RB the caliber of LeVeon...It really would be scary to think about that team with Lev Bell as the workhorse RB, so I wouldn't rule the possibility out. To me, that would seem like the perfect fit. Indy offensive line is legit as hell. They just dominated that tough Texans front in the WC game yesterday. Q. Nelson proving to be one of the best picks of last years draft, leading the way.... I like Marlon Mack, but he isn't the most dependable. They also have the speedster from NC State, Nyhiem Hines, who is a dangerous player, especially in the passing game. Bringing in Bell would give them a true 3-headed monster backfield....
