Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

Discussion in 'Pittsburgh Steelers' started by Steelroc74, Mar 24, 2013.

  1. Just having a debate that’s all...nothing more

  2. So after witnessing this year his value was exceeded or was just right?

    It's irrelevant to the discussion.

He could have blew out an ACL and never played a down and it wouldn't have affected his pre-draft market and where he was selected.

  4. Your answers are really funny...every player could have blown out their ACL...hence a crap shoot is the NFL draft...he was All Pro 1st team so I guess that market was incorrect

No he really isn't he is good at best and good doesnt cut it as a first round pick. Especially when you play the LB position in Pittsburgh our linebackers are held to a higher standard.

I'll admit I'm not reading very carefully, but it sounds like you are using his performance in season to say he slid in the draft. If thats the case, AB and Brady slid extremely far...no, that's where they were expected to be drafted. James may have performed like a top ten pick, but thats not where he was expected to go. Maybe where you expected him to go, but not where the NFL teams expected him to go

  7. No it started where I said Pitt should take Greedy Williams at #20 and I said Derwin wasn’t expected to fall to #17...then the debate started

What about our beloved Super NY Rangers? Any chance for them to make playoffs?

If you shook an 8 ball and and asked I think it would say Reply hazy try again or worse my sources say no. If they are they are going tohave to turn around the trend of having multiple multi game losing streaks.

Derwin was expected to be selected in the area he was selected in.

You need to work on your comprehension.

Is Greedy from FSU? If he is then showstopper will always insist his value should be the top of the draft.

If he is from LSU then showstopper must be hallucinating

  15. My comprehension is fine...u were using some jokers that get paid to be wrong and it doesn’t effect them most times....for example Walter football had Ward going #12 and Lamar Jackson going #16 so again these people are clueless that’s why I don’t put much stock in the market....GMs are what matters

  16. Nope not hallucinating...FSU doesn’t have much coming out this year except for Burns and he’s not worthy until at least round 2-3

  17. That tells me all I need to know if u don’t have a clue where Greedy Williams is from...that’s a problem when it comes to talent eval

And for all you know the Chargers had him ranked 23rd and reached for him at 17...

Nobody said anything about Walter or any other independent site being the end all be all so apparently your reading comprehension is right up there with your ability to reason obvious statements.

When someone says a player is sliding they are basing that off of what that players perceived market value is.

We don't say players slid when they are drafted where they were projected and they outperform that spot. We don't call a player a reach when they come off the board where they were expected to an under-perform.

Again, you are flat out wrong on this so I don't know why you keep trying to change the dynamic.

  19. I never changed anything....Walter had him going #14...all I said was TB I know liked him in the top 10 until he refused a workout and if Miami took a safety at 11 I’m sure Derwin was under consideration at that spot....I also said he was projected to go in the upper half of the draft...so the range could have been anywhere from 7-16 cause I didn’t think any of the top 6 teams would take him...where is that changing anything...all I know is I said he would be a force and after one year he has proven his worth

You said that Greedy could slide like Derwin.

Greedy has the relative value of a top 10 pick right now.

Derwin never had the market value of a top 10 pick.

    The comparison doesn't work.

Greedy falling to Pittsburgh would be a slide.

Derwin being selected by Los Angeles was his relative market.

There is no functional comparison between the two situations at this point in time no matter how many other elements or talking points you try to add to the discussion.
