Completely agree. My view of the AFC changed last night. Defense wins Championships. Chargers and Chiefs don't have one.

The rankings are in yards, but I was talking about opportunistic defense, which is making huge plays when they're really needed.

All the criticism they got for winning the Super Bowl during the Bountygate span, didn't explain why the defense got the wins, and studies showed that in that span only the Chargers had less injuries to their opposing defense players than the Saints.

It's expected for a great defense to win, but it's not a gimme.

When the Saints played AT the Baltimore Ravens this year, the Ravens were rated #1 in the NFL in defense, allowing only 13 points per game. The Saints racked up 24 points and won.

 

After today, the Saints will still want one more game against any AFC team.
