OTWT. If this was Harbaugh still paired with Flacco, I'd agree. But 2019 will be Harbaugh paired with the most dynamic and exciting QB in the history of the universe. A QB who's already unstoppable on the ground and next season will be dropping 300+ yard passing games left and right while leading the Ravens to 23-0 on the year. Lyman, Harbaugh is still the best HC in the division and this season kinda proves it. When was the last time a HC/OC installed a completely new offensive system with a completely new QB midseason and saw success? I'll argue this later........if we ever get to coaches
To both Bears fans, what do you can by continuing to derail this thread because you don't agree with the optimism of Browns fans?? You already stated your points. They don't agree. Move on. Unless it's some ego/pride thing that I don't understand
I have stated, on numerous occasions and in most of my posts, that I would like to get back to the topic at hand. Apparently, that wasn't good enough for some other posters here. I agree with you, and I'm trying.
So RavensR#1, are you happy with the news on Harbaugh? Looks like he's going to be around for a while longer. Personally, I think you guys have a rock solid HC. If he were fired today, I don't think he'd be unemployed long. Any team looking for a new head coach would likely have John on the short list.
I don't comment much on the Ravens, but I've always respected Baltimore as a great sports town. My grandfather was a big Colts fan. I was about 14 when the Mayflowers rolled out of Baltimore in the middle of the night, and took the Colts to Indy. I can remember thinking, how can they do that? Thank god that'll never happen to the Browns. There's NO WAY they'll ever take the Browns out of Cleveland...smh Yeah, I felt sorry for the Baltimore fans for about 11 years. Then not so much after that....Crazy how things worked out. But it sure adds heat to the rivalry now.
Honestly, at one point I was hoping for a HC change, but not anymore. After really thinking about it, I want Harbaugh to stay. Ravens fans, myself included, have called out his bonehead challenges and lack of time management, but at the end of the day I can't think of 10 coaches I'd say were better. So expecting the owner to find a better coach probably isn't likely. He does not bring his own scheme to the offense or defense, but he definitely motivates his players. I'll probably make a post on the Ravens board in the near future about John being extended and why I think that's a good idea
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2811424-ranking-the-top-10-nfl-rookie-classes-of-2018#slide1 ^^^Now that is beautiful music to the ears of any Browns fan, and the very reason for all the excitement in Cleveland football. In John Dorsey we trust. I can't wait to see what kind of damage this team will do in 2019...Another draft as effective and impactful as his 2018 effort, and I believe the AFCN crown will be within reach for the Cleveland Browns. Something that hasn't happened in almost 30 years.
- Officially eliminated due to the Titans victory over Washington on Saturday, but I don't expect this to dampen spirits. Chances were beyond longshot anyway .. - FWIW, the oddsmakers like the Browns by double digits (-10) for the first time since 2002. - I really don't think Baker, or coach Williams, are going to let anyone in our lockerroom "check out" early and start making vacation plans. I'm actually not worried about that anyway, for the first time in a long time. As John Dorsey put it, we have "real players" now. We can't make the tournament, but finishing with back to back division W's, and our first winning record since 2007, all while potentially ruining things for the hated Ravens, should be more than enough to keep this team focused and playing hard to the end....Getting a sweep on Cincy would be a wonderful Christmas present....Getting a sweep on Baltimore, and knocking them out in the season finale, would be priceless. I'm honestly expecting Mayfield and these Browns to get this done. Looking forward to strong finish. -

Baker Mayfield can make history on Sunday Posted by Mike Florio on December 24, 2018, 10:43 AM EST AP Apart from the opportunity that the Browns will have to knock the team that used to be the Browns out of the playoffs, Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield is close to matching, and breaking, an NFL record. With three touchdown passes against the Bengals in Cleveland’s sold-out regular-season home finale, Mayfield pulled his total for the season to 24. With two more on Sunday in Baltimore, Mayfield will match the single-season rookie record of 26, held both by Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson. A third touchdown pass will give Mayfield the record to himself. Sunday’s win saw Mayfield complete 27 of 37 throws for 284 yards, no picks, and a passer rating of 121.9. He’s gotten to 24 despite not playing until a Week Three injury to Tyrod Taylor opened the door for the first overall pick in the draft. The fact that Mayfield wasn’t the Week One starter could be one of the reasons for Mayfield’s decision to stare down former Browns coach Hue Jackson and then to say, essentially, “Flick? Flick who?” when asked about it after the game, suppressing all the while a grin that usually accompanies the figurative consumption of a substance that would normally inspire a much different facial expression, if consumed literally. But Mayfield probably doesn’t care about the record. He cares about the team, and the fact that it has a chance to finish his rookie year by winning six of seven games, doubling the win total that Jackson cobbled together in 40. Mayfield has that rare combination of extreme ability and off-the-charts confidence, along with charisma, moxie, attitude, and a dash or two of that wrong-side-of-the-bed dangerous that makes him compelling and intriguing and entertaining and one of the main reasons why we’ll see plenty of Browns games in prime time next year, and every year Mayfield plays in Cleveland. @beachbum ....The 15 year run of dominance remark might have been a bit over the top, but I'm not "way off" on the primetime game prediction for next year. Everybody wants to see Mayfield. We are headed into a new era of AFCN football.
The Steelers get five prime time games every season. That is the maximum number you can get. They flexed two out because the teams sucked we were playing. Flexed in the chargers game. They can flex almost the whole season now.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays Browns Backers Hope everyone has a great Holliday Season, and an even better New Year.
Just was looking at red zone passing stats and was hugely impressed with Mayfield and how he stacks up against this years starting QB's. Here's the 2018 red zone stats from Pro Football Reference: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2018/redzone-passing.htm Biggest takeaway.........No picks in the red zone!!!!!!!
And here's another reason to be excited for next season..... https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/red-zone-scoring-pct
Not sure if you're being sarcastic.....but ATT, COMP, COMP %, YDS, TDS, and INT's in the red zone are not objective in my book. They're pretty much solid, straight up stats and this chart is comparing apples to apples with no silly stat formulas to deliver a rating. You can sort the table by each of those stats to compare. Care to explain your stance, cause I'm not getting it?
I vote sarcasm...He said it was completely BS, OBJECTIVE stats.. If he were really calling it out, he would have said subjective.
