I thought RB's were done. Try to keep up here, RR3 :p

Ravens won't be #3 in the AFC North, or lower, for a long time. But okay, so TEs and O-line? Is the O-line being broken down by position or as a group?

  3. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

You could very well end up in 3rd place THIS YEAR !!!

If this thing goes the way it has so far, probably both.

  4. ravens_R_#1 Legend Ravens

Possible, but let's just say I don't see that happening.

Okay, I'll check back later to see

oh there's a chance...So you are saying they'll get more than their usual, which is none? Ya think? Really going out on a limb there.
    Preposterous.

I know it's hard to fathom a relevant Browns team, let alone accept that they are about to overtake the throne from the mighty Steelers, but ya might as well get used to the idea of the Browns controlling things in the AFCN for the next 15 years or so, because it's happening. Mayfield is just beginning to scratch the surface. And deep down, whether you are a Cleveland fan or not, you know that's true....You can call me way off base all ya want. The reality is, it's all unfolding right in front of your face.

Steelers QB = rapidly ageing. This game takes it's toll, as we all know.

    Browns QB = rapidly ascending.

    I wouldn't expect you to see that happening (finishing 3rd in the AFCN), however;

I think everyone has more or less conceded the AFCN title to the Steelers. They would have to lose to the Saints (highly possible) and then lose again to the Bengals (highly improbable). Assuming they go 1-1 in the final two weeks, they finish at 9-6-1.

Cincinnati is toast. Stick a fork in them.

Baltimore has the Chargers and the Browns left to play. If they lose to LAC (highly possible), then they enter the final week at 8-7-0.

Cleveland has the Bengals and the Ravens left to play. Cincinnati is a mess right now and they're playing in Cleveland. The Browns should beat the Bengals this week and would then enter the final week at 7-7-1.

So it comes down to the final game of the season. If the Browns win, the Ravens end up at 8-8-0 and the Browns at 8-7-1. It should be a very exciting game for both our fan bases.

    Shouldn't you have a winning season first....maybe even a playoff berth...or perhaps a championship...before you crown yourself a dynasty?

Quick point, the Steelers wouldn't have to lose to the Saints AND Bengals to lose the division. They could really only lose one of those games (Saints) and end up second to the Ravens if we win out. Problem is most don't expect us to beat the Chargers

I wasn't trying to go out on a limb. Just countering that they'll have more than any other team. That's not going to happen.

The part I took issue with (I quoted it) was the part where you said the majority of prognosticators would have them as the favorite.

Clearly things are going in the right direction.

Fair enough. Ben is getting up there but some had Mason Rudolph ranked at the top of their board so there is at least someone on the roster. Personally I'm a pretty big fan of Dobbs.

Has anyone else wondered which Williams has the better unnecessary letter in his name, Maxx or Gregg?

Nope. But I do wonder why you knuckleheads add an extra "g" to Williams' first name. :nownow:

Not as long as people still think Mixon > Chubb *AND* Mixon + Benard > Chubb + Johnson.

With 43 additional carries, Mixon is only 135 yards ahead of Chubb and they're tied in rushing touchdowns (with 8).

Just be sure to remember where you heard it first. Though I'm Just forecasting for now. i mean, I'd hate to get ahead of myself here.....true that we can't crown the Browns yet, but if ya'll went through the 25 year run through hell that Browns fans have endured, maybe you'd understand why all the excitement. It doesn't matter to me how many opponents fans try to piss on our parade. It simply reassures me that the Browns have their attention...

Wow, what a weird and wonderful thread!

First, I'd like to say that I'm excited for the Browns, I truly am. I think they've finally found a good QB that they can expect to play at a high level for years to come.

Also, I totally understand the excitement that Browns fans obviously feel right now! They have a pretty talented roster and are doing some great things.

All that said, I think its very premature to say that the Browns are the favourites in the AFC North for 2019. Baker Mayfield is a talented kid, but he hasn't exactly faced a murderers row of defenses and he hasn't exactly lit it up against the decent ones he has faced. The Browns have a good team and they will be in the conversation for the division next year for sure, but they won't be the favourites. There will be a few prognosticators that pick them, of course, but it won't be some across the board sure thing.

If I had to pick the AFC North rankings for 2019, it would be:

Steelers - As long as Ben keeps playing at a high level (and his demise has been greatly exagerrated in this thread I think), they'll be the favourites. They are the most well rounded team in the division.

Browns - Between the Browns and the Ravens here and I only pick the Browns because I trust Mayfield a bit more than Jackson. I see too many issues with a QB like Jackson over a full season.

Ravens - Again, they could certainly be 2nd if Jackson can stay healthy and the Ravens can utilize him properly. The defense is outstanding and that's hard for me to admit.

Bengals - The return of the Bungles.

Well I said I was willing to wager on it, so....

For the positional rankings so far, I like:

    QB:

Ben Roethsliberger - He's playing as well as I've ever seen him play. Sure, he makes some bonehead decisions, but that isn't anything new!
Baker Mayfield - Slightly ahead of Jackson again, for no other reason than I don't trust Jackson's style.
Lamar Jackson - Could be an incredible player if he can stay healthy and develop into a good passer.
Bungles QB - no idea who this will be in 2019

    RB:

Browns - Chubb is the real deal and they're just deep there.
Steelers - Connor and Samuels will be a great tandem.
Bengals - Mixon is a poor man's Le'Veon Bell, but I'm just not a fan.
Ravens - They really need to find that great RB to pair with Lamar Jackson. The undrafted kid they've been giving carries to seems exciting, though.

Well thanks for the personal invite. I really don't spend much time on this site anymore, but I'll try to keep up. Its exciting to see the AFC North becoming a 3 team race again and even more exciting that one of those teams is the Browns.
