They certainly are and im telling you the truth, tonights game makes me nervous. Vikings havnt proven they can win on the road outdoors or against a team with a winning record.
I don't need the attitude, Catfish. It's a legitimate discussion, and one in which I asked you for your definition of "Solid". Considering the facts, I think you can keep your lollipop, and admit it - you're not giving them the credit they deserve. Just to summarize - you're saying that the team playing on the road will make all the difference? Because yes, the Bears just beat the Rams with Trubisky throwing 3 INT's, and I don't think there's any basis to assume that changes just because it's called a playoff game. That's some nonsense if I've ever heard it. I'm not saying that the Bears will win if Trubisky doesn't play well - but you're saying they won't, and won't be worth watching, and yet they just did, and they certainly were...
By the way if I'm not mistaken the Raiders now on the number 3 pick and the 49ers still own the number one pick. The Cardinals and 49ers have the exact same strength of schedule but the Cardinals beat the 49ers twice.
When it's all over though I think the Cardinals will own the number one overall pick because once teams play everyone the Cardinals have the toughest schedule.
I'm old school - I tend to like lower scoring games (not like the Jags-Colts 6-0 slogfest, but 20-17, 23-20, with the occasional 34-31 "barn-burner"). Defense should count for something, and it's starting to go by the wayside as the NFL does everything in its power to entice the younger highlight-reel fans with modifications that ALWAYS help the offense.
Ties go to the easier schedule Joe...If the Cards have the toughest, they will be the low man on the totem pole.
They'll battle it out for biggest loser and as they do, the Browns beat the Ravens week 17 to overtake the Steelers as Division Champs... {hits snooze button to try and continue this dream}
LOL. It can happen. Lots of ifs that at least become more clear after next week. When only 2 weeks are left then even far-fetched scenarios are all realistic, ties excluded.
I would paint it realistic after watching the Steelers on a 3 game skid....but then I realize, they play the Bengals week 17... So the dream ends there.
Agreed. It's why watching a game like last night's is so rare, and so fun. And I would say that about any two teams - legitimately high powered offense meets stifling, turnover-heavy defense... why wouldn't anyone want to watch that?
Yeah, it's any given Sunday syndrome, but man, I don't see the Bengals beating the Steelers at Heinz Field...IF they lose two more, they will be in jeopardy of missing the playoffs completely. They would be up for that game.
Even more reason for the Bengals to be up for it. Spoiling certain teams is sometimes more of a boost than making the playoffs.
Irish remember what I said about liking your chances if you started 2-0, well I know things may have changed if Hue stayed but those 1.5 wins, especially with the Steelers would have helped tons. Then again my team has choked a few when just 1 more win may have been all that was needed when all is said and done.
No offense dude but you cry whenever something negative is said about the Eagles and you pouted and ranted like a fat kid that was denied cake when the Saints ran up the score on the Eagles. I respect your opinion on who you want to see in the playoffs and why but you’re the most sensitive person here when it comes to being criticized.
I'm all for it. I mean, that 54-51 game was amazing...but I don't necessarily want to see that every week. Don't get me wrong - it's awe-inspiring to see how surgical the Saints, the Chiefs (and the 1999 Rams Greatest Show on Turf) can be. But if you can't look at the flipside of that coin and be awed by the 2000 Ravens or 1985 Bears, you're missing something.
your the one wanting a better adjective than "solid." great, super, 85 Bears then ? they're 9-4 so how solid is more than enough to describe them. talk about tooting your own horn. it's 1 game. they won and beat the top team. it was an ugly game. can they do it 3 times to get to the SB ? Give me $100 against it happening.
