This is why I think it's so weird how the Falcons and Eagles seem to end up playing each other so often. They aren't exactly dynasty powerhouses that are destined to meet in the postseason every year. But when the NFC East and NFC South have those one-off matchups, more often than not Atlanta and Philadelphia will end up matched against each other.
That means they both finished in the same spot, ie. third place, second, first in their respective divisions.
It's just surprising how often it seems to happen when both divisions are so volatile. Although it actually isn't really fat frequent if you look back on it. It just seems that way when time flies.
Yep - but it happened over and over on the specific seasons before the divisions had their one-off games. And they have faced each other in the postseason three times this century - with all three in years where they did NOT play each other in the regular season. You'd expect teams that had long runs of dominating their divisions (eg Denver and New England) to have played each other so often. But with Atlanta and Philadelphia it has just been freak chance.
Heh...I remember a few years ago people were losing their crap when the Broncos had to go to Foxboro three years in a row, and then the Pats had to go to Mile High the next three years in a row and oddly nobody thought that was so unfair lol
Steelers fans used to mention it when Ryan Clark was on the team and it seemed we always had to go to Denver where he couldnt play.
with the game essentially over do they leave him in to shoot for the record? he is 76 yards away from tying it
and kicked the pat really? Screw it at this point both your kickers should be on the bus already as you dont punt hte rest of the game and no field goals go at it madden style. Well i guess oyu need one for onside kicks.
