and he's too young to give up on. the NFL has give players second, third and fourth chances. this guy is 23 yrs old. way too early to not get another chance.

he broke one of Jim Brown's records last night. I can't believe Jim Brown has records that still stand. Peterson is ageless. Still some juice left in the tank.

I heard the Chargers-Steelers game on Sunday night was a flex game where it was for another time but they switched it. With the Eagles needing to win vs Dallas on Sunday, will the NFL switched that game as a flex or is it too late now to do it ? Hope it's a good game?

No. Only week 17 can be moved on such short notice.

James Conner is out for Week 14...

As the Steelers try to reverse a two-game losing streak against a team that has won two games all year, they won’t have running back James Conner.

Despite prior claims and reports downplaying the injury as a contusion, Conner has an ankle injury. Coach Mike Tomlin told reporters on Tuesday that Conner won’t play on Sunday at Oakland.

The Steelers should be able to defeat the Raiders with Jaylen Samuels, Stevan Ridley, and/or Trey Edmunds carrying the load. But the Steelers will need Conner for Week 15, when the Patriots come to town.

Conner, who became the starter once Le'Veon Bell held out into the season, has 909 rushing yards (4.5 per carry), 467 receiving yards, and 13 total touchdowns.

The Steelers have four losses on the year, three of which have come against teams from the AFC West: Kansas City, Denver, and the L.A. Chargers. The Steelers will finish their tour of the division when Tomlin faces his former Tampa boss, Jon Gruden, on Sunday. (PFT)

The Bills are making a big change on offense, with two wide receivers sent packing today.

Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Holmes have both been released, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The entire Bills passing game has been a disappointment all season, so in one sense it’s no surprise that they would cut a couple of wide receivers. But it’s rare to see two players at the same position cut out of the blue. After all, it’s not like the Bills have a lot of great receivers backing Benjamin and Holmes up.

Benjamin is second on the Bills this season with 354 receiving yards. He has shown flashes of the talent that made him a first-round draft pick of the Panthers in 2014, but for the most part he’s been a disappointment for the Bills, who traded a third-round pick and a seventh-round pick to acquire him from Carolina. Holmes is sixth on the team with 157 receiving yards.

The offense has been looking a little better recently, and quarterback Josh Allen had his best game on Sunday. Now Allen will need some new wide receivers to catch his passes. (PFT)

It seems like the Bills wanted to give them a couple of weeks with Josh Allen to see if there was any rapport. Nada. Zay Jones may have some life in him now though.

Greg Olsen won’t be able to try another comeback with the Panthers this year.

Next year remains up in the air.

According to Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers are putting the veteran tight end on injured reserve, officially ending his season.

Of course, he effectively admitted he was done for the year after tearing the plantar fascia in his oft-injured right foot in Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers.

He missed nine games last year with a Jones fracture in his right foot, but missed three games earlier this year when the same problem re-emerged. He opted not to have surgery, but the foot finally let go Sunday.

Having two seasons defined by injuries is a cruel fate for Olsen, who previously was one of the most durable and talented players at his position. He went nearly 10 years without missing a game, and became the first tight end to ever post three straight 1,000-yard seasons.

The 33-year-old signed a contract extension in April which carries him through the 2020 season, but he wasn’t willing to speculate about his own future in the aftermath of the injury. (PFT)

The downside of that is predraft I had mentioned that IMO the best situation for Zay to thrive in would be something similar to New Orleans because of the consistent accuracy from the quarterback (he profiles as a volume/rhythm receiver).

That won’t be the case for at least the immediate future in Buffalo.

Looked it up. Hard to believe he is the only TE to ever have 3 1,000 yard seasons in a row. Checked Gonzalez and Witten, they barely got that many 1,000 yard seasons in their career let alone in a row.

And on that note, those are the only 1,000 yard seasons Olsen had.

He was the first. Gronk had a chance that same year before he got hurt and Jason Kelce did so this year.

A lot of the time it's just about staying healthy. Jimmy Graham was 18 yards short in a season he only played 15 games, in between his only 1000+ seasons.

No but unlike not too long ago there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
