Mike McCarthy gets to come to Cleveland to what? Waste another generational quarterback's talent?

Green Bay should have won multiple Super Bowls with Rodgers.

This isn't going to be another Laurel/Yanny thing, is it?

I've always pronounced it with a soft 'j', just to be safe. "Yif" sounds better anyhow.

The ""Hue" thing has gotten too much attention. I'd like to see Baker, at least, "no further comment" this subject. I respected him stiff arming Hue, but IMO that was all he had to do. The comments about "same personell, different results" is self evident and frankly a little petty. Still I don't hold that against him coming right after the game, but that should have been the end of it from Baker. Let the pundits and talking heads carry on about it, but let it go. Houston is the focal point, and I hope this isn't detrimental to the absolute total focus needed to get a Win Sunday.

In the grand scheme of things it's just media fodder, as long as he stops responding. I know he like to play with a chip on his shoulder, and did in Cinci, but that's in the past, as is Hue until late December. We need Baker to bake this week, again.

    How horrible is Hue Jackson?

Good luck to you guys the rest of the way. It's awesome you are still in the playoff hunt.

Well I guess that ends this thread. Houston taught this young Browns team a lesson today. lots of work yet to be done. A team on the rise, but the summit is still a long climb away.

With a new perspective, after Houston, what would Browns fans consider a good finish?

Car, Den, Cin, Bal left to play. No gimmees, except possibly Hue's kittens. I believe we can beat Camolina, at home, Denver on the other hand, has started to look like a genuine contender, and playing in Mile High will be a tough test. Baltimore too, has found it's high pressure D, and the O does just enough to cover. Tough schedule.

I want 3 of 4. Realistically I expect 2 of 4. Cinci is my expected W, then it's time to beat a team we aren't supposed to beat, at least one of them. Camolina is the opportunity game IMO. It's at home, and Carolina is a little Jekyl and Hyde like, so that's two home wins, and then it's a tough road win somewhere.

    Your hopes, expectations?

If I'm being honest, I think you are spot on. The kicker will be the Ravens I think. We've beat them once already and after this next stretch of games, they could be reeling in desperation. That could be our third win of the four. I will be pleasantly surprised if we can win IN Denver. At the same time, I EXPECT both home games to be wins. It's been awhile since wins were the expectation.

If we go 2 for 3 over these next 3 weeks, I will be fairly happy with the season. 6 wins was expected, if we get to 7 that would be a pretty big leap from 1 and 0 over the past two years. Not many had them winning 7 games....Deep down I REALLY want to put the losing season crap behind us. Just think of the expectations next year if they could end the season on a 4 game win streak....A Man can Dream...Right?

    We really missed an opportunity:

    upload_2018-12-3_7-32-56.png

Went into the weekend in 12th and came out in 12th...

We could have passed the Bengals and made up a game on Indianapolis, while keeping pace with the Ravens...Instead, we are now 2.5 games out of the last Wild Card with 4 games to go...

It's a REALLY big long shot at this point, but I figured, I started the thread, so I am obligated to keep it updated.

The good news is the Ravens have a tough road ahead. It is Very possible, I think even likely, they go 1-3 over this stretch...that would include a loss to us of course. So, if the Browns take care of business..there is still a mathematical possibility.

All I can think of at this point is the line from The Holy Grail........."I'm not dead yet." Brings back some memories of DGNR8 and how threads could descend into a Monty Python routine at the drop of a hat.

    Great point !

We should have kept Cody Kessler, drafted Barkley instead of Mayfield and shit-canned Jackson along with Sashi.

I dunno, you'll have a hard time convincing me that we'd be better off with Kessler than Mayfield.

Yesterday was a reality check for the Browns. In about every way possible, Houston showed us that we aren't quite ready to talk playoffs yet. The Browns just shoot themselves in the foot over and over with penalties. And I know it was a tough break on the Callaway fumble, but the bottom line is, he didn't finish the plays.

This is a young team, and it showed in Houston. There were times when Baker was able to escape and extend the play, but in those clutch moments, he didn't know what way his receiver was going to go. That kind of thing comes with time. These guys haven't played together long enough to have those little nuances down. Next year at this time Baker will know the instincts of his receivers. He will know, Nick Chubb always goes here, or in this situation Duke likes to turn it out into the flat, or in that situation, Njoku will turn up the seam and try to get deep....Great offenses don't just happen overnight. We've seen enough to know we have a QB, and Baker isn't going to rest until he's dialed in on all the tendencies of his playmakers. The future is very bright. They are already pretty good, and I expect next year this offense will be deadly...

Agreed TD. We are watching a very accelerated growth spurt, largely centered around what is unquestionably the top QB this year. He is a man, and he is driven to better himself and everyone around him.

I can't forsee anything happening in these last 4 games to diminish my sincere belief in the kind of team we will be next season. The HC decision will be a big key, but I'm putting my faith in Dorsey's process and connecitons, to make sure he (or she?) will be spot on.

I'm excited about next week, and the one after that, and all of the rest. Test games for Baker, Williams, and Kitchens. Lots to still learn about our team and our coaching staff as it stands, then full speed ahead!
