This is my mistake. I read somewhere that he attacked a man in a previous incident but I didn't search it out to check and verify it.
He is being investigated for a second, unrelated, incident baby. You aren't mistaken. There really isn't any information to make a discussion on this second incident, but what we do know is he was accused of striking a man in the altercation.
I was looking for a video or news about it but I'm not finding much. Plus I don't have much time to do it this morning. Maybe later when it STOPS SNOWING SO I CAN DO SOMETHING BESIDES SHOVEL SNOW ALL BLOODY DAY!!!
I haven’t seen the video. That said... I was raised to never lay hands on a woman, for any reason. (Maybe if she’s some kung fu black belt...?) Kicking a guy when he’s down is also something I’m not ok with. When I was a freshman in high school, I (stupidly) tangled with a senior, and my last memory of that fight is covering my face, laying on the ground, while he kicked the everlovingfuck outta me. As someone who’s been in a fair share of fights when I was younger, you win some, and you lose some. That was my worst one, and it’s not something I could bring myself to do to another guy... and I could never do it to a woman, for any reason. He’s young, or drunk, is no excuse. I was young and mostly drunk for over a decade of my youth, and never had trouble NOT kicking a woman. On the subject of 2nd chances... it’s the only debate point here I might get on board with. Some things are unforgivable, I dunno, I have to see the video. Someone is going to sign him, I think that’s beyond question. It’s not like he has a history, like Reuban Foster. I would have been completely opposed to the Bears getting a guy like that.
That precisely echos my attitude too. I have seen the video and rewatched a few times. To me, disgusting as her behavior was it doesn’t rise to the level of physical retribution, not even close. I’m secure with my ego and would have simply walked away. Now, if it’s life threatening and I’m trapped that might change things but only to the point of thwarting the attempt. RE: second incident: From the article: "The league also has been investigating an incident involving Hunt allegedly punching a man in the face at an Ohio resort in June. The NFL is believed to have found enough from that incident to add to Hunt's discipline." Full article here: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...t-faces-more-than-baseline-sixgame-suspension
My thoughts on this, not having seen the video: If it's a one-time incident, and the video is as described (a mutually violent altercation), it's a different story than a repeat offender / clear abuser. It's never okay to assault a woman, but if she's taking part in the assault, it creates a more grey area not in the judgement of the act - the act is not acceptable - but rather a judgement of Hunt's intentions, and potential to do something similar to this in the future. If he is guilty of another assault, as is being investigated, then this is a different matter. When he says, "I'll learn from it", you now have reason to disbelieve him. Chicago doesn't need a problem in its lockerroom. I think this team has a strong atmosphere and cohesion, and that has helped create a lot of success. Ultimately, you've got to judge the man for who he is, and whether this will reoccur. The question becomes, while these things are in progress and being investigated, whether you feel comfortable making that judgement before finished investigations in an effort to be the first one to sign him. Someone will, for certain.
Very well said IrishDawg....Kudos I said it before he is done like Toast........Career Over. What a waste of talent. Huge Waste Baby.
Of course, and the answer largely hinges on the circumstances of this incident. But if we're gonna form an accurate opinion we need to be accurate with what actually happened. He didn't hit this woman(she did hit him). And your rhetorical question implanted the suggestion that he hits women plural. Thats quite a leap and doesn't help us reach an accurate conclusion on this. Just saying. Absolutely. The kick itself is "odd" for lack of a better word. Its a very weak kick. It wouldn't have hurt a child. Thats not to say it was acceptable at all, it wasn't. It was a degrading and demeaning act and for that reason completely wrong. But it wasn't vicious in the Greg Hardy mold, or Ray Rice punch. I don't know if that means his heart wasn't in it or not. Its not about ego. Do you believe its acceptable behavior to scream profanity and verbal abuse in another persons face?? Wow. Now this moves the needle. Having never heard of Hunt being in trouble before it was only fair to judge this based on it being an isolated incident. One in which Hunt was subjected to severe provocation before eventually making a bad decision. But with a second allegation of physical violence, even if it is against a man and not another woman, we're getting towards pattern forming territory. I do find it a little co-incidental that this should come up now though. The NFL have once again been made to look clownish with regards to player conduct and violence against women in particular. They completely failed to get out in front of the hotel incident, but now "here's another case that we are investigating and we're all over it!" Some minds might be suspicious..... Great point baby, forgot about that. As a person i didn't like the kick. It wasn't physically harming, but it was degrading and just a punk-like move. As a GM id be very concerned about the fact that Hunt lied to the Chiefs about all this. How do you believe his word after that?
Hey IrishDawg, the 1920's called, you're needed back there immediately. Please take your archaic condescending bullshit with you. Thanks much.
My opinion.... The NFL and it's owners need to draw a line in the sand. This type of stuff is happening far too often. And it shouldn't take video evidence for the league to do something about it. I realize you can't expect every player to be an angel because every person walking the street today isn't...but violence against women and other unnecessary violent acts can not be tolerated. I don't think this ends his career. He's gonna miss a good amount of time but I think he will play for someone at sometime down the road. I'm 100% okay with that not being the Bears.
Do you remember the random guy who turned up for an argument a couple years ago, had a stupid basketball av? He kept using that dumbass phrase went something like "and it wasn't a Toyota". Anyway, that guy? Funnier than this guy.
Hunt clearly walks out into the hallway to confront the woman, who appears to be even walking AWAY. Then, HE makes first contact by shoving her. None of this had to happen. This idiot escalated everything. Fuck him.
Anyway, that guy? Funnier than this guy. I'm not joking.....I'm been serious......I agree with Bear-Man....Hunt is an idiot and his career is OVER. Maybe you guys have forgotten these names from the NFL who were involved in "Personal Conduct" issues. Chad Johnson.........career over Greg Hardy............career over Daryl Washington....career over
Well yeah Johnson's career ended with an arrest but it really ended because he was over the hill and no longer productive on the field. Hardy got a bunch of chances before finally running out. It wasn't just one incident. Washington was cut for refusing to take a paycut...he could have been signed by another team and at one time the Cowboys were interested in him. None of that is exactly apples to apples when talking about Hunt.
