I hear you Will.........but Cat is right the NHL is changing.....Thanks to Gary (bendover) Bettman.....my take is it's about Head Shots in BOTH NHL and NFL.......it is a problem and BOTH Leagues are addressing it.

They will always be "Tough Guy" sports...and Fighting will always be a part of Hockey....it's just a new era Will.

for both of them to not want a suspension on lucic or malkin is nutty. how can they turn away and a blind eye to what lucic did ? malkin's a punk and was always teetering on being dirty. that elbow is no different. to not want any punishment is really allowing anything in hockey and that turns into injuries. game must be governed in a way to still allow the players to play on the ice. the cheapshots can go away.

 

This all depends on the rules as they stand today. They were just saying the way they feel the rules should be applied, could be outdated. The league keeps altering what is a suspension or fine every year, so I'm not sure where the league is with this now. Five to ten years ago there would be nothing.

Josh Archibald could be facing a suspension in the near future. The Arizona Coyotes forward will have a hearing for his illegal check to the head of Nashville Predators forward Ryan Hartman on Thursday night.

As you can tell from the video above, Archibald caught Hartman with a shoulder to the head right near the blue line. He was given a minor penalty for an illegal check to the head after the incident occurred late in the second period. Even though he’s not a repeat offender, You’d have to think that the obvious contact will result in him getting at least a one-game suspension.

After leaving the game momentarily, Hartman was able to return to the Predators bench during the third period.

Archibald has no goals, no assists and a minus-1 rating in nine games this season. The two penalty minutes he received for the high hit were his first two of the season.

^^^^ as bad as Radko Gudas was for his goonery with the Flyers, he has cleaned up his act. Wilson just doesn't get it. He doesn't care about his fellow NHL player. He's reckless and dangerous and these are 2 traits the NHL doesn't want in the same player with a reputation like Wilson's. he'll never learn.

 

And at the same time, the NHL decided there would be no hearing in spite of his reputation.
