That beat down was a message - Saints wanted to tell Philly that they would have beaten them LAST year, too.

well the game was in New Orleans, not in cold ass Philly for a playoff game. a little different. and if they wanted to play in philly, tell their cornerback not to whiff on the ball and miss the tackle all in the same play. haha.

my thing is the coaches went golfing and had a friendly bet over jersey colors etc. so this is what friends do when the game is out of hand? ok. i'll remember that. this bullshit of "defense stop them then." ok - tell that to any team in any sport getting killed. it's a bad night. if they could stop them they would. so run it up on every team then out of spite? that's what everyone is saying. it's a business and fuck them and run it up. im saying ok. can't wait for karma to bite the saints.

The last time the Saints played at Philly for a playoff game, the Saints won. They racked up over 180 yards rushing and that was even without Pierre Thomas playing. The win also took the monkey off their back for not being able to win playoff games on the road.

The last two occasions that the Eagles beat the Saints, the scores were 38-23 and 39-17. Were they out to show mercy? No.

did they throw a 35 yrd td pass up 30+ points on 4th and 1? nope.

I didn't see the Eagles beatdown on the Bears 54-11 but it doesn't seem the Eagles had any intentions of letting them back into the game. That's how it goes.

When Ron "Riverboat" Rivera was interviewed after his Panthers losing to the Steelers 52-21 some weeks ago, he didn't whine and throw a tantrum, he simply said 'stuff' happens.

If I remember right, it was unseasonably warm that day in Philly.

And no, not run it up on every team - just the Birds. Again - sending a message.

Look, I don't disagree with you - I don't think it's very good sportsmanship. But welcome to being a defending champ, Cat - gotta prove yourself EVERY week because everyone is gunning for you.

Brees has 29 TD passes so far this season and is only 23 short of breaking Peyton Manning's NFL record of 539.
Sean Payton is going to give Brees the chance to put up 4 or more TDs a game if he can, no matter what team they face.

Gidion. Hated to see the Steelers lose. But on the bright side. That fake FG was a thing of beauty. I was laughing for 5 minutes.

im not throwing anything. if you had a chance to read what the EAGLES players thought of the 4th down call, you see im not the only one pissed here. hell even the Eagles HOF writer, Ray Diddinger, was mad about it and he's pushing like 75 !

EVEN if that play hadn't happened, the Eagles still got routed. Brees was taken from the game instead of keeping the scores coming.

If, IF the Eagles rack up a 30 point lead on the Redskins, do you think they're going to take their foot off the pedal?

    Get over it.

What they SHOULD be pissed at is the lack of fight they showed as the game wore on.

The Saints scored 51 points the week before against the Bengals and 45 points the week before that against the Rams. In fact they lead the NFL in scoring per game....but it's some Eagles players that say "wahhhhh YOU can't do that to us!! We're the Champs!!"

and vs Tampa, Tenn, Dallas, etc, etc.

They beat themselves, the broncos had no idea how to stop us. Ben’s INTs were two of the worst throws I’ve seen Ben throw, Conner knocked the ball out of his own hands and Grimble took the worst angle he possibly could have to hit the defender on his way into the end zone. We could have easily scored 40+ points in the game.

this is what you're missing. this has nothing to do with them being the champs. it's you're up by 35-you can call off the dogs. they didn't run up the gut for a first down on 4th and 1. they went for the jugular and a 35 yard bomb for a td. it's a respect factor. since sean payton missed a year of coaching, this is something i would expect him to know about. i was wrong. that's what the eagles are pissed about. the play call and many others threw respect for your opponent in the toilet and basically "go fuck yourself Eagles, we are pissing all over you!"

The first half of yesterday's game it looked like the Eagles were going to lose another one, against the lowly Giants.

The Eagles didn’t show one ounce of mercy to any of their opponents last season. Turn around is fair play. The only reason why they are pissed is because they got embarrassed. You said yourself that you had no healthy CBS, how do you expect a team to artack your strength when they can abuse your weakness.

They didn't play like champs, so they didn't look like champs either. Whining over the Saints because your team got blown out is being a poor sport. Over the years I have seen the Saints piled on after they were far behind, including plays like you're whining about. Once, the Falcons beat them 62-7. It happens.

Malcolm Jenkins was flipping Sean Payton off. Why didn't he do that when his Saints in 2009 were blowing out teams like the Giants and Patriots?

He's not with the Saints anymore....good. They can do without him.

I do wish the Saints had kept Darren Sproles though.

you can have both ! i'll drive them to the airport ! Jenkins is a lot of talk and little results. sproles is like a 77 Pinto and breaks down a lot.
