ax-how long is that flight? my bad back would never last that long. MY FRIEND DAHMER -story of HS Jeffrey Dahmer before his first murder. Wow. The parents role was not accurate but a lot of it was. really frightening to think this guy would become one of the worst serial killers in US history.
Flying back - Bali to Kuala Lumpur: Game Night. Mildly amusing, as long as you totally suspend disbelief. Decent cast (Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman, Kyle Chandler, Jesse Plemons).
Just saw Mean Girls (2004) for the first time. Funny parts and lines, silly movie overall, and very high school-ish in every possible way. 6(and change) out of 10 Apparently this thing is going Broadway and my gf asked me to watch this movie and if I liked it, perhaps I would be open to seeing it on B'way. Think I'll pass. Book of Mormon is probably more up my alley regarding Broadway shows. Too bad Cannibal: The Musical isn't touring live.
15-hour flight from Guangzhou to LaGuardia: Ocean's 8. What a waste of my time. Even on a long plane flight. How did Roger Ebert give this derivative POS 4 stars? Annihilation. This has gotten some good reviews, but either it was edited or I wasn't paying enough attention (dozing off a bit) - didn't really care for it. Might have to re-watch. Hidden Figures. Very good. Tag. Fuck me, that was stupid.
No, vacation. It was my sister-in-law's 50th birthday, so we joined her and my brother, her folks, and a another couple.
wow that's one heck of a birthday. my birthday is next week. all im getting is a cooked dinner from my girlfriend ! haha.
i won't be watching any movies till thanksgiving and Creed II. Mule with Eastwood at Xmas and Glass the 3rd part of the Unbreakable series in January. Gotta binge watch House of Cards and this BBC One series my brother in law told me about in the UK - hunted. looks awesome.
axe-every time i see the end of American Sniper and the real guy's funeral process in the rain and the people standing on the road with flags, it brings me to tears. im an old softie. Sully-solid movie. The airlines were pissed they were portrayed as the bad guys in the movie when it didn't happen that way.
Outlaw King or as I call it Braveheart Part II. Very solid movie on Netflix. A little slow and it jumps around a bit but solid overall. Great battle scenes. More accurate than Braveheart, which isn't saying much. Recommended to those who liked Braveheart. Chris Pine is great as King Robert the Bruce.
How can you compare a cartoon you reviewed for the first time when you were 2 to a movie you watched when you’re pushing 50? You’re like as a child will always Trump the 50 year old reviewing.
damn man. no need to bring up my age. and my birthday is tomorrow. i always liked the original. even vs the Jim Carrey movie. and i recently watched the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown for Halloween. loved it as a kid. it's awful now. the Grinch still is a great Xmas cartoon. The movie was very solid, but it's not topping the original.
The shows that we watched as kids were enjoyable when we were young. They just are outdated now. But if it makes you feel better I agree that most of the older shows were much better and of higher quality than the shows nowadays. Just boring to watch now. The other problem is If I do watch something old nobody else in the house wants to watch it.
but i like the old grinch now still and the year without a santa claus and the heat miser and snow miser. they are still great. that's not what you're are saying. the movie was solid, but not topping the cartoon. the charlie brown xmas i loved as a kid is awful now.
CREED II - better than the original. very good movie and a rare great sequel. stallone once again is great in a supporting role and hopefully gets another oscar nomination. the movie overall was really, really well done. great fight scenes as well. michael b. jordan is solid as Adonis Creed. Chappaquiddick - no idea why they needed to make this movie and rehash these events to that poor girl's family. the movie does nothing but make Ted Kennedy look even worse than before. It doesn't paint his father in a good light either. Jason Clarke, who plays Kennedy, is very good in the role, but wow was Ted Kennedy a dope for how he handled this.
