What exactly was said that got him so upset? I teased him about the Raiders trade of Mack. So did d-line and Patg. I really don't think anything that bad was said by anyone, including red himself. We've seen far worse here as we know.
I overreacted. I've reached out to apologize for my part in it. I agree with the thoughts above - it's clear that the poster in question was here decidedly to poke, though the response might have been a little much. Ultimately, I think this is an overreaction on multiple levels, but I recognize my part in it. I don't ever want to be the reason someone leaves the site. I expressed this to Tim, and it's why I overreacted in the first place: This site currently suffers from a handful of posters that take things distinctly out of hand, and don't contribute any more than that. As such, quality conversation here is hard to find, and usually has to navigate past several individuals trying to derail it. Given that the Bears board is a bastion for constructive conversation, when Rediiis stepped in, I overreacted at the idea of losing that last harbor of constructive conversation. As such, I lashed out and overreacted in a way resembling the behavior of those that I criticize elsewhere on the site. It's not a justification - just a thought as to why things went the way they did. I appreciate the constructive conversation here, as always, all. I really hate that this has somehow overshadowed a significant win and hell of a night for Bears fans, last night. I don't see why it had to - again, I think this is all an overreaction. But, I played my part in it, and it's worth discussing as necessary.
I think it had to do with me saying that he doesn't contribute anything of value, and insinuating that it wasn't just on this thread, but elsewhere. That wasn't really called for, and it is what started the personal insults that he returned. You're absolutely right, that far worse has happened here and all over the site (and continues to, regularly), but it was ultimately still not a step I should've taken.
I'm wondering why he called me an ass? I mean, I am. But how did he know that? i guess it's good I didn't see that last night. I may have punched a viking fan in the head.
Oh my GOD Marvelous!! May I call you that? This is beyond hilarious. You are a dry-witted kind of guy. Love it.
I’d pretend to know what you’re trying to say here but I don’t see a point in it. Carry on with your fucktardry.
Here's a positive thought on the heels of this conversation. This kind of thing pops up everyday (almost) on this thread. It can begin with a misunderstood teasing or it can be caused by an all-out aggression. It's the way that WE react to it that counts. When in doubt, just let it go.
For what it's worth, Lyman, quality posters such as yourself are the reason this site still has constructive conversations, and I appreciate your contributions. I appreciate your input, here - an outside perspective is welcome and valued. You're always welcome to chime in on the Bears board if you feel like it, though I understand that the vitriol here can be a bit much, as we're discussing. Hope all's well for you.
Hahahaha....you’re seriously pathetic. If I were you I’d reach down in your pants and see if your balls are still there...because I have a theory that you are only gonna find a bleeding vagina. Though I kinda feel bad for that because calling you a pussy is an insult to pussies everywhere. Everyone else today is trying to make amends and move past things and you just want to keep trying to cause shit.
You'll also note, on around the same page, my reference to disruptive posters that don't even go away if ignored. As I said, you're not here to make things better. So take a break.
When I was 10 or 11, my best friends older brother told me that if a pussy was staring me in the face, I wouldn't know what to do. I said, "yes I do, i'd fuck it". I stick by that to this day.
Frank please find something else to do. Albeit this is kind of humourous, it's also getting completely predictable. Find the door please and use it.
