The Ditch part deux

Probably knows more about hockey than I do already!

 

I've posted a couple of things on football and apparently a moderator is threatening my expulsion. It is with sad iii's that I leave this site for a bob's age. I really don't need the piss-ant micromanagement. May your sports heroes and teams give you an outlet.

I wish everyone on L4S were as even keeled. I wish everyone came here for Sports and to interact with fellow sports fans about sports. I wish everyone pretty much left it at that.

I have had the privilege to have met several regulars in person. Without exception, I have liked the person more than I liked the avatar. I suspect that most people that may read this is a cool, engaging person. The real person is invariably more in depth and interesting than the impression we get through a few comments that they post anonymously about sports.

Get over ourselves and enjoy the chatter.

 

Red got put on blast for no good reason tonight. He has every right to be upset about what went down and I don't blame him at all for thinking 'fuck this place'.

I've got up and walked away from the computer 4 times now to go to bed and have made it to the end of the hallway only to turn around and come right back. I'd be lying if I said I was anything less than pissed off right now.

 

I would like to meet everyone that posts here face to face just once so I could get a better feel for who they really are. I have a feeling there are a lot of people here that I would truly enjoy sharing a stogie with and swapping old war stories.

 

After taking a walk with my lovely wife and dog, I'd like to thank the following:

Bob, for teaching me the nuances of fiscal management in hockey.

I still have no idea what happened, the hockey threads aren't football. I don't go on the football threads much, lost the passion as a fan a while back.
It's amusing how grown adults can get so protective and petty over their favourite team.
Truly a cult at times.

 

It's good to see hockey fans that still show up here even though their teams aren't what they used to be.

A bears fan?!?! Shocked, I say.

 

You know when you have that company that's decided to let that 30 year employee go.
They put dine in charge of seeing it through, the hatchet guy. He's been to the guys house, knows the family well for years (wife and kids).
He's in charge of making sure you don't take anything out of your office on the monday morning when security shows up to escort you out. He takes your keys, fobs and parking pass.
He walks you you the door with security and doesn't even look you in the face when they slam the door shut on you.

 

Someone once messaged my about why @hockeybob no longer posts here and I really didn't have anything definitive to share because he left without really giving a reason why.

However, I know he was upset with the idea that the civility on this site had taken such a nosedive.





Just some food for thought for all involved.

 

I think Bob got caught up on the political threads and it took its toll. The hockey threads can get out of hand at times, but nothing out of the normal.

 

I honestly believe that was the case and if I had it all to do over again I never would have opened that forum at a users request.

 

I had no idea he was a wounded vet until it was brought up on those threads. I don't think he ever wanted to go there.
