I haven't been this pumped up for a Bears game in quite a while. Do not let me down. Let's get angry and crush these purple fucks.

Espn is saying Bilal Nichols and Javon Wims both questionable with knee injuries.

Also while Shaheen is active, we're probably gonna see some of one or both Daniel Brown and Ben Braunecker. Time to find out if TE is going to be a need come the offseason or if either one of these bums can put together a solid game. Teams are starting to get gassed this time of year, and these two have had clean uniforms much of 2018.

We need a big game from Jordan Howard. Doesn't have to be 100+ yards or 20+ carries, just consistent solid gains between the tackles to open up more stuff for Trubs in the RPO. Yes, we still should pass to set up the run (not the other way around) but those runs have to be effective. Also, stop running Cohen between the tackles.

Need a monster game from Mack.

To me this really comes down to whether Shaheen is any good and can stay healthy. If Shaheen works out, I'm fine going to next year with him and Burton and one other blocking TE off the scrap heap. No need for 4 TEs on the roster.

Here’s a look at the Bears by the numbers as they prepare to play the Vikings on Sunday at Soldier Field (7:20 p.m., NBC-5).

    Against the Lions
269: Points scored by the Bears this season in the first nine games. That’s more than the 264 points the Bears scored in all of 2017, when they finished ranked 29th in the NFL.

4: Games in which Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky has passed for 300 or more yards this season — against the Buccaneers, Dolphins, Patriots and Lions. That’s tied for the most in franchise history by a Bears quarterback in a season.

16: Games of 300-plus passing yards in Jay Cutler’s Bears career, a team record. Trubisky has five in his career.

Giants. Trubisky missed tying the mark with six touchdown passes against the Buccaneers earlier this season.

24: Takeaways by the Bears this season — 16 interceptions and eight fumble recoveries. That’s more than the 22 takeaways the Bears had in all of 2017.

89: Points scored by the Bears off takeaways, most in the NFL.

11: Career multi-sack games for Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack. He had two of the Bears’ six sacks Sunday against the Lions.

Bryce Callahan this season. Callahan, who also has two interceptions, is one of four Bears cornerbacks to record multiple sacks in a season since 1982, along with Ricky Manning Jr. (2006), Jerry Azumah (2001) and Donnell Woolford (1990).

72.2: Percentage of field-goal attempts made by Bears kicker Cody Parkey. He missed two on Sunday and also missed two extra-point attempts — bouncing all four misses off an upright.

98: Receiving yards by Allen Robinson in the first quarter Sunday, the most in the first quarter by a Bear since Marcus Robinson’s 119 against the Vikings in 1999. Allen Robinson finished with 133 receiving yards, the fifth-highest total of his career.

    Looking ahead to the Vikings
6: Vikings’ wins in the last seven meetings with the Bears. The lone Bears victory was on Halloween in 2016.

2,685: Passing yards for Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins this season, seventh most in the NFL. His 71.3 percent completion rate ranks third among quarterbacks with more than seven pass attempts, behind Drew Brees and Derek Carr.

78: Catches for 947 yards and seven touchdowns for Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen this season, tied for most in the NFL with the Saints’ Michael Thomas. Thielen and Stefon Diggs (58 catches, 587 yards, four touchdowns) are one of two sets of teammates who rank in the top 10 in the NFL in catches, along with the Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. and Saquon Barkley.

58: Consecutive games started by Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph, the longest streak in the league among tight ends.

31: Sacks by the Vikings defense, tied for first in the NFL and one ahead of the Bears. That includes 20 sacks in the last five games.

11½: Sacks by Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter this season, second in the NFL behind the Rams’ Aaron Donald. He had 3½ against the Lions.

322.2: Yards per game allowed by the Vikings defense, fifth in the NFL, one spot behind the Bears. They are third in rushing yards per game allowed and 12th in passing yards allowed per game.

0: Wins this season, by the Bears or Vikings, against teams that currently have a winning record.

85: The approximate number of hours between the end of Sunday night’s Bears game against the Vikings and the kickoff of the Thanksgiving Day Bears game against the Lions in Detroit.

We have to sustain this if we want to go the playoffs. Remember what happened in 2012 when we stopped getting turnovers + points off at the same rate and we collapsed.

One other thing is that Cousins has played very well against Fangio's Bears defense twice in Soldier Field with inferior weapons surrounding him. And both games were in December. Of course our defense was garbage then. Strangely though, Cousins has performed better on the road outdoors than he has at home. Fangio needs to do everything in his power to pressure him as much as possible.

I have to report that the Panthers just lost 20-19 to the Loins who would've quit on our thanksgiving game if they'd lost this today.

The reason the Panthers lost? Cos that dumb fuck riverboat ron went for 2 with 1min remaining instead of just taking the xp to tie the game. Fuck you Panthers, fuck you fuck you FUCK YOU!!!

Apropos to almost nothing I am pleased to announce that I can actually watch the game tonight. I put the game thread up this morning because I've been at a funeral all afternoon and I didn't know if I would miss the game or not. This is HUGE news in Ontario folks .. I can actually watch THE BEARS!!

I have been watching some vids this morning, almost EVERY expert has the Bears losing this, you'd think we were going up against the Rams or something. "This is the Bears first real test" - as though we didn't play the Patriots. You can say we didn't rise to that occasion, but you can't say they haven't been tested.

This is going to be a tough game no doubt, and the Bears really need to bring their A game. The only way to get respect is to earn it, time for them to show up. Can't wait.

That's actually really good for the Seahawks, because they play the Panthers next week, which would put them in the wildcard if they win. We actually need the Seahawks to win for help in the wildcard race if it comes to that.

But it's all irrelevant if the Bears take care of business and win, starting tonight.

All due respect double-v, fuck the Seahawks, I want to win this division. To do that we're gonna have to win divisional games and doing that on thanksgiving just got harder after Rivera the fuckhead pulled a Frank Reich.

  13. blang84 Legend Bears

Fine with me. We control our own destiny. Every divisional game until we've clinched home field throughout is a must win.

Plus I think the Lions would come out fired up no matter what on Thanksgiving. That would have been a tough game for us either way.

  14. EvertonBears M.V.P. Bears

Really? You'd rather go into that game with the Lions still alive in the division, knowing a win over us puts them right in the hunt, rather than 3-7, basically eliminated and in continued chaos. Wow.

  15. blang84 Legend Bears

Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for the Lions to lose today, as I do every week unless they are playing the Packers.

To me the game is must win regardless of the Lions coming in 3-7 or 4-6. You could argue that if they come in 3-7 and basically dead that maybe we overlook them or come in overconfident.

Btw Ev are you staying up tonight?

Nah, like Blang says the Lions were going to come out fired up no matter what, they hate us and the games for at least a decade have always been "chippy". Honestly, are we their biggest rival? I was talking with a buddy of mine about "Michigan's biggest rival". I don't follow college, but of course Michigan's biggest rival is OSU. MSU's biggest rival is Michigan, of course. The top rival bit isn't mutual. I could see the same with the Lions, they seemingly hate us, but for us the Fudge are always the biggest rival.

And to the Seahawks, my point was we own the head to head, so if they are in the 2nd wildcard with the same record as us, we go. I am not worried about the Lions winning anything, tbh, and as I said, it's irrelevant if we just keep winning.

I also love that the game doesn't start for another 2 hours and the game thread is already almost a page long.

I just watched the highlights of the Lions/Panthers and their kicker is Parkey levels of suck, missed a FG AND an XP? Makes more sense they'd go for 2 in that case.

I don't think Trubisky should try to run that much. Pain.
Cook is the wildcard, can he pound the rock.
    One coach will blow goats.
