OUR country wouldn't get the travel/tourist/hospitality/merchandise business the Super Bowl brings to the host city!

Why do you think our cities fight to host a Super Bowl?

All I said is that the ratings and the attendance would be fine I did not say we should do it

I also think there have been a few studies that showed getting a SB was not as big of a boon as many people think it is

As Midnightrayne used to say "studies showed you can put pine tar or a bat or vaseline on the toe of a golf club to get more distance from the ball".

Why do you think they call it Super Bowl?

Originally, it was to be the AFC/NFC Championship Game.

KC Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt got an idea one day watching his daughter play with her superball.
Calling the championship game a "Super Bowl" would mean they could sell tickets at a higher price and market merchandise for it a lot better. The other owners weren't all that enthusiastic about renaming the game but it stuck with the media, and it's been The Super Bowl ever since.

and if it were called the AFC/NFC Championship game it would still be just as popular

I'd expect they'd abandon that idea if they tried it once.

there's more money in calling it the Super bowl

Only if it didnt make money for the nfl

OK I'll give you that argument. I don't agree with it. But lets say that's true.

    But moving on ………..

    Given what I've said before.

You think that a totally American sport should give it's crown jewel of a game game to a foreigen country ??

    Are you serious ???

Look at a time zone map.

    It won't work !!!!!

SoCal is going off topic again.

You voted for Hillary didn't you !!!!!!!!

Again I did not say it should be I simply said ratings and attendance would be fine.

If you start the super Bowl at 7:30 in London it would be 2:30 Eastern time Delay it to an 8:30 start (sucks for those at the game but meh) and you are talking about the game starting at 3:30. heck an earlier time might mean less people miss work on the monday after the Super bowl

And if that idea is tried and flops, the cities of Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Seattle to name a few would be complaining that the game being played in their city instead would have been a better idea by far.
