And it's a coin toss between Mayfield and Chubb for Week 10, so add a seventh to the list...

I'm giving it to Chubb this week. A) Broke the Browns record for longest run from scrimmage B) 2nd longest run by a rookie in the entire NFL C) Longest run in the league this seasons, He didn't stop there, besides "the run" he also had 84 yards on 19 other rushes, for a 4.4 ypc average NOT COUNTING "the run". Had just over 200 yards combined and a TD rushing and receiving.

Yet, for some reason, neither Hue nor Haley seemed like they were interested in getting this young man involved in the offense. smh... Even after that ridiculous Raiders game when Chubb touched it 3 times and generated over 100 yards and 2 scores.......??? It just blows my mind. Were those guys just out-thinking themselves, or what? Geezus....,Sorry, but this is a good football team, and 3-6-1 doesn't do it justice at all. Every week, Hue was telling us, "oh I know. Trust me. getting Nick Chubb more involved in the gameplan is on the agenda."...as if that was just SO incredibly complex of a notion that us common fans just didn't understand how difficult that would be to accomplish...smh. smug jackass.

Until of course, John Dorsey made it happen, and left them no choice...

pffft...Good riddance to both of our offensive "geniuses". Not impressed with either of those bozo's... Hue and Haley had to have felt pretty foolish watching the Browns play yesterday......

Jim Donovan just broke that story at the end of his half hour news program. It just so happens that Mary Kay Cabot was sitting next to him when he broke the news on the air and you could almost see the steam coming out of her ears.

Funniest thing I've seen on a news program in quite some time.

That's a win for Cleveland...out of here, and onto the staff of a rival. What more could we ask?

I have a close friend who's son is an intern with the Browns in the marketing group. He told his father that the scuttlebut around the water cooler at work was that not playing Chubb was one of the main causes of the pissing contest between Hue and Todd. It picked up steam after training camp when Jackson said Gordon would not start week 1 and Haley scripted his 1st series with plays and packages that included Gordon and it really went downhill from there.

I realize you don't think much of Hue but, I would have preferred he didn't land with a team in our division who we still have to play twice this year. He is, afterall, intimately familiar with the stengths, weaknesses and tendancies of every player on the roster.

THE GOOD: Pretty much everything. That was a solid win by the Browns where they played well in all 3 phases...This is the kind of game that should really build confidence in that locker-room. I'm still thinking that our most impressive game so far was our loss in New Orleans. I haven't seen any other team even come close to stopping that Saints machine, and we did it all afternoon in their house, but yesterday was huge for the Cleveland Browns...I can't wait to see how they look coming out of the bye. Just from a confidence standpoint...

THE BAD: I was really hoping we could break 30. There were more points to be had, but I'm not gonna complain.

THE UGLY: Well the halfback pass play from Hilliard in the direction of Baker certainly qualifies. What was that?...I believe Chubb's speed actually saved us a TD on that debacle.....

Hue didn't know what QB to play....He didn't know what RB to play...He couldn't get along with his staff even under the bright lights of HBO's Hard Knocks.....I get what you're saying Lyman, by I wouldn't worry at all about Hue and his "knowledge" of our roster...If Marvin tries to lean on Hue, and they gameplan for us based off that info. Well my guess is that that would work in Cleveland's favor, without a doubt...

Not trying to be cynical...I swear.

And we won't have to wait long to find out.....It's gonna be fun.

Smh. Somehow that's not surprising...You would think that the main goal would have been simple. Just play the guy that gives the Cleveland Browns the best chance to score points and win football games...Yet somehow, these guys just couldn't get it right. Like I said, it just blows my mind.

Not unlike the QB situation, it seemed pretty obvious (especially after the trip to Oakland) which RB looked like the better NFL player....No knock on Hyde, but he doesn't have that same burst at all. Hyde is a good back. Chubb is something special...

Dorsey hit another HR with Nick Chubb...I couldn't be happier with that pick.

(it's nice to get him out of fantasy storage and onto the active roster too...and about time!)

THE GOOD: We Won! We won on all fronts!
THE BAD: Chubb. That's one bad man.
THE UGLY: The mood at the Jackson and Haley residences Sunday afternoon.

I just can't say enough about this guy. I drafted Nick Chubb in one fantasy league. I acquired him in 3 other leagues after his bust out performance in Oakland, and it really didn't take all that much. Just been waiting for the Browns to make the seemingly obvious move. lol! And it took way too damn long but I'm glad it's finally here. The hardest deal to get done was my #2 $$$ league. Funny thing is, I made several offers with no success. Then, just the week before last, completely out of the blue, the guy offers me Chubb for Cooper Kupp....So I took that in a heartbeat. Obviously "now" that deal is all in my favor with the unfortunate Kupp injury. But before Kupp got hurt, there was some chirpin that I gave too much...I personally never doubted it. If the dude stays healthy, Chubb's gonna be a top 5 fantasy performer down the stretch. The man is a beast. Speed. Balance. Power. Vision. Patience. Hands. Legit superstar talent...I think we are gonna be seeing a lot more #24 jersey's....It's exciting having a HR hitter like that in the Cleveland Browns backfield.

I think YOU are giving Hue too much credit...for not knowing who to play.. What Lym was saying was that Haley refused to play the players Hue thought should be playing, causing the rift.

I'm torn on this subject actually. I immediately thought to myself... NO!!!! He knows everything about this organization, it isn't like a player that knows his player group and might be able to shed a little light on some tendencies, Hue know it all. He had access to every position group over the past 2 1/2 years, including the thought process of Gregggg Williams.

But, the more I think on this.. The unknown is the offense. I'm not sure there really are any surprises to "give up" on the defense. There is plenty of film on Greggg Williams defense and he plays with his ears pinned back, pretty straight forward.

What isn't as known is Freddie Kitchens... He just called his first two regular season games of his career. BOTH successful, BOTH different from one another and BOTH very different from Todd Haley. A lot has been made that the playbook is the playbook, so the offense won't change a lot with Kitchens calling plays. It will be Haley's offense with someone else calling which play is run..but, neither week resembled Todd Haley in his 8 weeks calling plays.

Because of this, and what Freddie was able to put on film in two weeks AND having two weeks to gameplan for the Bengals...I am feeling like this is a non-issue.

I was also pissed off that they gave the team the entire week off....however, this coaching staff needed a little time to get their legs under them. I highly doubt the coaching staff has left the building completely. This will give Freddie Kitchens a real opportunity to script drives before each half and show some things that haven't been seen yet. He can perfect his plan this week and install it when the players return this weekend.

I was immediately pissed that Hue went back to Cincinnati 1 1/2 weeks before we play them, ironically right after the Ravens install, which would have gone in Monday afternoon. Now he has a week to re-acclimate into the environment, and get rolling in helping them beat the Browns when they start working discussing it Sunday night...or sooner. The truth is...I don't think they will be working on the Browns at this point of the week. I'm pretty sure they have already been working on them, just like any other team and already have the outline of the gameplan in place, just make some adjustments and that's where they hope Hue can help. In the end, I don't know that he will have any enlightening thoughts to help with that process. I can hear it now, Hue, what do you have for us that can help? Hue: "Trust me, Baker and Chubb are really good players, pay attention to those two" (drops the mike), everyone in the coaches meeting start looking around at each other in disbelief.

lol! He was set to join the staff this morning, so no doubt, that's already happened...And he's already pointed fingers at the Bengals D as well.

So there's been enough discussion, and rightfully so, about why Baker wasn't starting to begin with. The less-discussed issue is why wasn't Chubb? Just like Baker, it's clear that Chubb was a superior player to Hyde. Why did it take John Dorsey's intervention of actually trading away the player to make it happen?

It sounds like, if our inside source is reliable, that Haley got to decide who started (based on personnel on called plays), which meant Hue only picked who dressed for the active roster? The stories have poured out since Williams took over how Hue was essentially hands-off on offense, hands-off on defense, and only got involved in special teams when we were clearly losing games because of them.

Was that lack of oversight (and not trying to knock Hue here, FTR) the impetus for Haley to get an even bigger ego and start thinking he was running the show? That would give more legs to the theory that Haley was convinced he was getting the HC job once Hue was out of the picture and was irate to find out he wasn't the guy - leading to his dismissal.

I dunno. He stymied Baker Mayfield and shut down the Browns' offense for 2.5 seasons. Could be a natural fit at defensive coordinator for them.

You might have meant to have sarcastic humor in this post, but Marvin has actually already released a statement that Hue will be helping with the defensive side of things. I'm not sure what Hue has done to warrant so much loyalty....maybe it was the attempted trade for McCarren??
