There are always upsets somewhere...and I'm far enough behind that I have to roll the bones. Not like I'm betting real cash money.

Axe.............what is your View on Aikman ripping into Jerry Jones ???

 

It's tough hearing a former Cowboy rip into the team (and the owner), but 1) I think it's warranted, and 2) I can't fault him for voicing his opinion. In 2014 and 2016 Dallas went a combined 27-7, made the playoffs both years. That seems like a lifetime ago now. I've seen the same quotes from Jerry ("We have to change, I have to change"), but it's like Groundhog's Day - improvements are made, but seemingly never enough to seriously challenge, then comes a seemingly inevitable backslide.

 

i think when Dallas had the #1 seed and lost in the 2nd rd in a massive upset was more hurtful to the team than anything. it was like the loss set them back 5-7 years somehow. they got dak and zeke, so why aren't they better? their def seems pretty decent too. and you cut dez loose. is it the coaching? the overall team? the philosophy and atmosphere in Big D ? What is it ? this team should be better. I don't know if Jerry Jones is to blame as well ? Something is wrong down there in Dallas, if not multiple things.

 

Don't know that I'd call the loss to Green Bay "a massive upset" (not like Dallas was a double-digit favorite or even a touchdown favorite). But that game was clearly the high-water mark of this iteration of the team.

Lotta things have happened to the team, mostly all negative: Zeke suspension, Sean Lee back to being injury-prone after playing in 29-of-32 games in 2015-2016, loss of key offensive weapons in Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, struggles with their supposed strength (O-line), terrible play-calling, regression of the QB...

 

Dallas has only won 3 out of 8 games.....but they are only 2 games back in the NFC-East.

Awhile back the Steelers had big hopes of winning their division while at the time they were sporting a 3-7 record. The reason was because the division leading Ravens were only 5-5.

Or the 3 other years they reached the Super Bowl.
