The Packers put him up for grabs because of his fumbling. Not sure why they decided to fix their fumbling issue with another fumbling player. That’s like saying your going to solve gun violence by giving more fins to people. He’s also been injury prone as well. That said, I like Ty and hole a change of scenery goes a long way in fixing his fumbleitis. I like he value they got for him (7th rd pick in 2020), but that only if he stays healthily and holds onto the rock.
He will take over as the primary returner. As he learns the offense, he should bump Buck Allen to the bench as the pass catching rb and he will probably see time as a 4th WR in 4-WR sets.
I actually perplexed on this trade. On the surface he's a Buck Allen clone - situational, pass catching, back up. However, he isn't as durable as Buck for short yard situations. Buck also doesn't cough up the ball either. I like Ty and I think they are both talented receiving rushers. Makes me wonder if they are trying to reproduce what BB did in NE with White, Blount, Lewis and Bolden. Not sure if we have the chops to pull that off.
