Isles win, sabres 50 sec left down 3-2 to the Sens.

Devils score with 5 secs left, too little, too late as the Wings pull off a 4-3 win.

I was gonna mention all of the Pacific teams with minus point differentials. I think it is a true indicator. They only had two with plus numbers and then the Oilsludge get a plus 4 tonight.

Yep, only take Oct stats with a grain of salt. Stats start to take shape after 30 games.

Kovalchuk still has it, 11 pts.

Last night the habs set an nhl record for the fastest two goals at two seconds apart.
Joel Armia scored exactly two seconds after Max Domi off the face-off on an empty net.

The Canadiens have been amazing so far. I just wonder if its just a lucky start with teams not taking them serious or are they really that good. Biggest surprise in the league so far, imo.

Fkn habs, always seem to find a way, Weber back should give them an extra boost.
    Domi was useless in arizona.

as much as you disagree with me Will, the fans want him out. they see no improvement on the team and the farm system is so overrated it's laughable. they no longer believe this team can contend, let alone get good enough to win a Cup with the players they have. When they don't win this year and next year, the ax is falling on Hextall. his 5 yr plan is closing fast and the team is near the bottom of the standings.

Philly's HC will get cut before their GM; I can virtually assure you of that. That's almost always the pattern; a GM is given the opportunity to prove his worth with a new HC before he gets axed. The HC may be given a little leash if he has poor talent, but it's never very long. Now, when it's time to fire the second HC under a GM then you'll often see a complete routing of the FO & coaching staff. Tim Murray in Buffalo was allowed three HC's before he also got the axe.
Sometime people see the forest more clearly from afar than from inside the city. I think that's the case with the hockey team from Philadelphia. Their lethargic play (for the most part) this season is very disquieting, and that's going to fall on the coach. The organizational talent structure is a bit bifurcated with good offense talent - but generally speaking starting to hit or go past their prime. They've got outstanding prospects in G and a stout D pipeline. They may start to click just around the time the offense goes into decline.
Then again, Hex cleaned up an absolutely horrendous cap situation that he had inherited. He might be able to pull it off with some savvy FA moves. However, you do not want to waste your FA load early. You have to wait to bring in selective talent for when the rest of the roster is ready to produce. I think you may seem him active in July 2019.

Hakstol inherited some players that he wouldn't of picked. What they do with Simmonds and some others will define the coach and that really isn't fair. Hextall has some good players in defence and goal in the pipeline, but some old never-gonna-make-its as forwards in the AHL. I enjoy watching what they do.

As of this moment that team is +13 on the goal differential. I like their chances if the goalies hold up. The team is built well and made a couple of good trades last year.

Boeser is good at hockey and when the kid feeds you, Canucks kids are great.
