Hated to see Kyle Long get hurt. Still haven't heard the severity. But it seems like it's gonna be really bad news. It's the same foot that he had ankle surgery on.

I'm hearing the fans complaining that the game was boring and that the Bears beat a bad team. One, I'll take a few more boring wins this season. Boring wins are nice. It means you blew the other team out. Two, yes they beat a bad team. You prefer they lose to bad teams? Just shut up.

Bryce Callahan is playing as well as or better than anyone on the team.

Trubisky's deep ball is still an issue. He doesn't get a pass because of the wind.

Jordan Howard should feel better after getting in the endzone but still seeing too many runs go nowhere.

I liked most of the playcalling yesterday...the screen to Cohen was superb timing. But still a lot unneeded cute shit.

Woke up still drunk and that's all I got at the moment. Bills next week....and I expect another win.

    - I love boring wins.

    - Do we sell high on Jordan Howard?

    - Apparently there are teams interested in trading for Leonard Floyd, according to Jay Glazer.

    - Strange that a game played in that weather and with 2 developing QBs had zero turnovers.

    - Cohen should not be returning punts. I say that not because of his stupid gaffe at the end of the game but because he's taking too much punishment.

    - Trubs is taking too much punishment too. He needs to learn to slide or duck out of bounds sooner. I worry about an injury.

    - Pat O'Donnell not only has a mediocre leg, he sucks at directional punting.

    - I hate Cody Parkey's body language. He's mediocre and lacks confidence. Another stupid Pace contract. Need to upgrade this position in 2019.

    - The game still moves too fast for Trubisky. We do need to see improvement on the deep balls this season.

What happened with our first fg try. It looked like it was tipped? Or was it a wind gust? Or does he just suck that bad?

    He just sucks.

    I thought he pushed it.

And I don’t think he sucks on Barfs level but he’s not great. He’s an average NFL kicker.

Run D stepped up. Pash rush not so much. Team needs an edge rusher opposite Mack when he comes back because everyone out there yesterday was playing paddy cake with the OT’s. No bull rush. No speed moves. Just run into the OT and game over. If it wasn’t for interior D linemen getting push pass rush would have been a joke.

Other than that Mitch needs to calm the fuck down early on. Balls were sailing and I don’t think it was the wind either. He did calm down as the game went on. The long drive by the Jets in the first half contributed to a poor offensive showing early as it limited chances.

Bears haven't registered a negative turnover differential in any game this season. First time since 1990 they've went the first 7 games of a season without doing so.

They played a solid second half , defense was good from start to finish , take away the Jackson penalty and it's pretty clean overall.

Mitch ( aka coach Ditka ) missed a few again so still a work in progress , have zero confidence in peter parker the kicker ... still would like to see more runs in the 1st half but doesn't look like Nagy is going that direction .

Buffalo coming up next week , should get a win , their on a short week yet they did beat Minny so nothing should be taken for granted .

    - I agree the Bears aren't winning pretty. Im just glad they're winning. They haven't been able to do that in years.

Still, its kinda funny how your expectations change over time. I remember that game the Bears played in Toronto v the Bills, one of Lovie's last seasons. They played pretty crap that day and it was an ugly win. Guys in the game thread were sayin lets just get out of Canada with a win. I was really unsatisfied as i felt we should've blown out a bad Bills team.

Several years of 10-11 loss seasons later..... and im not nearly as pissed off heh.

    - Great to see the D come back to life yesterday, especially the run D. They got killed there the last two weeks and the way the pass rush is, if teams can win the POA v the Bears D in the run game, they're pretty much toast. Well they utterly owned the Jets run game between the Tackles this time. Hicks was a monster.

Obvs Mack is hugely important. But i think a case could be made that as big(if not bigger) of a reason for those last two losses wasn't just Mack being injured. It was the D being defeated at the POA in the run game, particularly inside. Hicks and Goldman really need to turn up and play with consistency each week.

    - I thought Trevathon had a good game yesterday. Which was pleasing cos he needed it. His early season problems have already been discussed with rob and imo he might've been the 2nd worst player on the field in Miami(Amos clear 1st imo). But he looked real sharp yesterday. Had one really nice pass breakup from tight coverage which i think got them off the field. ANd had another big stop in the run game on 3rd down to get them off the field also i believe. More please.

    - This is more of a question than statement cos not sure myself.... but how are people feeling about Noquan?

I really didn't notice him much yesterday. Which i guess means he didn't do anything bad heh. But he seems to be going long stretches where he really doesn't catch the eye and i never see you guys talk about him. I guess maybe i thought he'd be more pro ready than maybe he is?

But every now and then he wows you. That play against the Phins where he diagnosed a WR screen to Wilson i think it was, and flew to the ball from 12-15yards away before blowing the WR up for a loss....that was straight pro bowl. I'd like to see more of it tho.

    - 6 weeks ago i wondered if they should get Amos signed up now while it was still cheap. Now im wondering that about Callahan. One big blitz whiff aside, he had another very fine game. He seems to play well every week.

Callahan is playing on a 1 year deal. He was a RFA last offseason which means he's a UFA this. He'll have interest, in fact the Vikes were sniffing around last time. Callahan was very solid last season and he's been better this year, this only gets more expensive the longer Pace waits.

    - Damn, Bears WR's can really block this season!

    - IMO Nagy needs to re-look at how he's setting up for running plays. Seems like every run comes out of the gun and after some sort of elaborate pre snap movements that fool no one. Its meant to be misdirection, totally get it, but its actually just distracting. For the Bears that is. Sometimes you have to just line up and run.

Howard will never be a guy who can juke 2 players behind the LOS and turn it into a 5yard gain. He's a one cut between the Tackles RB. Every time he takes a handoff from the shotgun he's taking it virtually static and then has to generate his own momentum. If you put the QB under Center and call a run then by the time Howard takes the handoff he's already moving forward with momentum. From there he's more able to slip a tackle if he has to. But he can't do it from a standing start(as we've seen). Its not his game.

    - Cohen had an odd game. The huge TD was great of course. But that was his only catch of the game and he only had 3 targets. Not enough.

    - Credit to both Nagy and Trubisky, it was great to see them come out after a 1st half stinker and really turn things around in the 2nd half. Trubisky finished the game with another 100+QBR.

    - REALLY hope Long isnt badly injured.

    Go Bears!!

He had I think 4 solo tackles including a TFL. And was in on a few more as a helper.

I think he’s doing exactly what he needs to do. I like his progression a lot.

Not to take anything away from the win or the upcoming opponent, Buffalo--but the packers and lions made a few deadline moves.

Lions trade Golden Tate. Some people think they're mailing it in, I don't. They love Golliday, they extended Marvin Jones and Tate is a free agent after the offseason plus they get a 3rd for a guy who just turned 30, and he also had a few very good days against the bears.....wont complain about this at all.

The Packers trading Clinton-Dicks for a 4th? Don't get it. He's been decent on their rather pedestrian defense this year. Ty Montgomery for a 7th? Dude cant run between the tackles, but he's worth that little?

  14. They were pissed at him about taking the ball outta the end zone and the fumbling it away. They mighta cut him if they couldn’t trade him, I think.

  15. bigrobo876 Franchise Player Bears

Long is most likely done for the season. Reports are a 6-8 week timeline. I guess it’s a plus that it’s not a full blown offseason rehab type injury but man that sucks.
