My first choices is David Shaw .

    Browns fired OC Todd Haley.

It's surprising in that Haley seemed like the most obvious candidate to replace Hue Jackson, but it's justified and obvious based on the Browns' offensive performance so far. Although he was dealing with talent limitations, Haley had done a dreadful, dreadful job through eight games. Seemingly incapable of scheming for Baker Mayfield, Haley could not get Duke Johnson involved and seemed helpless as David Njoku and Antonio Callaway struggled. DC Gregg Williams is now the next man up to replace Jackson, but it's possible the Browns decide to go with senior offensive assistant Al Saunders. QBs coach Ken Zampese and Saunders will be candidates to take over the offense

Not sure you can teach a guy to catch .

#85 Shouldn't have been drafted until the seventh RD . The guy cant catch or block :sos:

#11 Needs to hit the jugs machine after practice . hell take it home with you .

So.....will this change the power structure in the Browns FO? Will the HC and GM still be on an equal level or will Huckleberry Haslam give Dorsey control to hire the new HC and have the new HC report to Dorsey? Or is some other situation in store? Will this prompt the hiring of a President or VP to the team to be in charge, keeping the owner as just a non-meddling owner?

PFFFFFTTTT!!!!! And when has the ambulance chaser Mary K ever broken any freaking news on her city's own team?????? Another source, ESPN, beat her to the firings earlier today. She basically just repeats what others find out first.

It's been confirmed by a number of different sources. Greggggg Williams is the interim.

(Somebody must read my posts. Hi, Mr. Dorsey!!)

I am genuinely curious if Al Saunders was blindsided. I wonder if the leak was real earlier, but that when they actually talked to him, he was honest and said he isn't a head coach at this point of his career.

It allows all QB-centric coaches to continue to focus on Baker...

Kitchens called the fourth pre-season game. We won 35-17 and rushed for 163 yard (5.1 YPC).

Trade deadline in approx. 26 hours. John Dorsey and the new crew make a huge move and Browns fans' hearts may all collectively explode.

Well . . . So much for the "insider accuracy" of all the media click mongers Browns fans hang their hats on to be in the know.

These were the same hacks proclaiming first Todd Haley then Al Saunders as the Interim HC when Jackson got fired. Then, when Haley got whacked, Eric Ken Zampese was going to be the OC.

Now, they're all talking about everything but who was actually named for those spots.

With most outlets reporting the same thing, everyone had the same scoop. Very real possibility the plan this morning was to fire Hue and promote Al Saunders to interim. Todd Haley, known for having a difficult personality, could have reacted... unfavorably and a result there could have been his being released, too.

A Saunders move would be an impartial one, so as not to "pick sides" in a power struggle between coordinators. With Haley out, Greggggg Williams would make much more sense. Browns could have been reacting on the fly there.

Dave Toub is the only one that last list with a tie to Dorsey (Kansas City). If it's Dorsey's hire, why wouldn't he go with what he knows?
