Hue Jackson - Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now Thread

Every play it seemed like you guys were trying to cause a fumble. That is not a good way to play defense. If you wrap up you never will miss the tackle. Hardly any players in the league wrap up anymore when they tackle.

It wasn't my wish, but I also don't see any need to wallow in the news. This organization is moving forward, so I hope the talk is positive about who that should be with.

Now, all that said, the elephant in the room has been removed. Dorsey obviously felt it was Hue and not Haley, so I do still expect to see improvement week to week.

The question is...Can Al Saunders be a FULL TIME head coach? I simply don't know what his desire is at his age. Does he hold down the fort and allow the coordinators to run amok doing anything they please, or does he embrace the role for 8 weeks? If there isn't a top voice in the room, this could get worse before it gets better.

I will say though, I was looking forward to Baker Mayfield spending his career with 1 head coach...Al Saunders is not going to last his career, so I hope they find a good one this off season.

Hopefully we can keep up the tradition.

So if you guys push for the playoffs does Saunders stay next season until after the second Steelers game?

I'm not wallowing in the news. I'm rejoicing just like a good little Browns' fan should! After all - the reason for 1-31 was clearly identified and the problem corrected, right?

Lol, first I didn't say you were wallowing, I said I wasn't going to wallow...

Second, I don't think you are rejoicing this morning. HEAVY dose of sarcasm aside, I do think you will see in the end it was better to move on sooner than later and give Dorsey as much time as possible to find his successor.

Also, I don't think it had anything to do with a 1-31 record. I think Haslem had every intention of erasing that from Hue's "Browns" resume and allow him to show that he can lead a team with talent. I think it was everything he was doing THIS season, without the weight of the offense on his plate, that led to this decision. I think Haslem believes in Dorsey and in the end, I think Dorsey showed Haslem enough to allow Dorsey to make the decision he didn't want to make.

There are clear responsibilities a head coach must embrace, Hue seemed more worried about other things than the fundamental things needed to help this team win games. I believe Hue came to Jimmy and wanted to take control of the offense back, and I believe Haslem (because of Dorsey) told Hue he could remain HC this year if he relinquished those duties. I think his refusal to stay out of the kitchen is another reason for his failure.

Well no more dysfunction this year right ??

Well, it's confirmed.... There was an internal issue going on between Jackson and Haley. No room for that in a functioning organization, Dorsey just showed, there is zero tolerance for in fighting.

Gotta love Ian's "madness". Looks to me like the GM doesn't take shit, was getting shit from two grown men and dismissed them both for underperforming.

Hopefully they can get Mayfield more comfortable now. Haley has anger issues and probably isn’t the right guy to work with Mayfield anyways. Sweep the Ravens and Bengals

So we throw out the OC and HC...presumably promoting the QBC to OC, will he continue to run Haley's plays? Trying to work out the logistics of all this.
