The Flyers need to address defense and goaltending. They are dead last in goals against, even worse than the lowly Wings. Its still to early to write them off, tho. They really need to do a better job backchecking. The Bruins exposed them over-n-over last night and Elliot made some really nice saves too, but he cant stop everything... he needs help from his mates.

 

^^ flyers got elliott, neuvirth, lyons, stolarz and carter hart, who is getting killed in the AHL. Hart or Sandstrom is the heir apparent, so why invest a ton of cap space or trade a prospect away when a goalie is coming as early as next year? they need help on defense as stated and hextall not doing anything this summer to help the def corps out hurt. plenty of quality guys to trade for and he did zilch. still time to do something and crickets coming from the flyers GM. And hasn't Ronny seen enough of Hakstol to know he's not the coach needed for this team in the future ?

I saw Philly in Denver and the hockey team from Philadelphia looked very lethargic. Well, it is the second game of a western roadie, I thought. But wait a minute - it was only the second game of the season. Fatigue and injuries are not yet valid factors for a poor game.

There's too much talent on that roster to be sucking hind tittie. I think the HC is called seriously into question when his good roster is not ready to play.

That's just the perspective of one hockey fan from very early in the season. Still, while they have time to right their ship, they'd better get to it.

 

many people said they looked tired but looked better as the game went on. talent ? you have 2 and a half good lines on offense and only 2 good defensemen. too many holes of guys sucking titties to be competitive. they have talent at some spots, but not all 4 lines are solid. their 3 defensive pairings have holes as well and their goalies are flat out atrocious.

been on hextall's ass for years. this past summer he got 1 player. big deal. many other guys to get to help this club and fill these holes and he didn't do it. and the great farm system is now totally suspect as many of these kids aren't that good or won't be ready for years. the current club is in massive trouble. they do have $8+ million in cap money to spend but as stated earlier ronny is saving it to resign provorov, who looks terrible now and konecny, who has done zilch. bad, bad, bad across the board.

Went to the dentist for a cleaning, her assitant was a black lady that spoke italian. I didn't know and she asked me if I could speak it, I said, yeah sure. Damn that whole hour of cleaning she was wrapping, wish I knew half of what she said.
I just kept shaking my head in agreement, that drill kept hitting those sensitive areas.

Two things I learned today about RFAs according to the CBA.

An RFA can't be traded for at least 12 months after signed. Also, they aren't eligible for a NTC or a NMC in their deal.
