The Ditch part deux

I've now met a full handful of L4S members with Lava being the 5th. He made it infinitely more enjoyable for me compared to going to the game on Monday on my own. Thanks again, Lava!

I felt that the Nucks did not come to play in the opening minutes of the first period, and a veteran Washington team capitalized on that very early. After that the Nucks seemed to settle down, but they were already behind the eight ball. Ovi had 4 points, but I commented to Lava at one point that #8 was looking quiet. That's before he got some G's and helpers, but even afterward it seemed almost effortless for him to run up stats. That's usually a credit to a player when they make it look easy, but I'll leave it at that.

Good fans in Vancouver - and there is a bond (at least amongst old farts) between BUF & VAN since both teams entered the NHL together in 1970. Buffalo fans are eternally grateful that Vancouver had the good graces to lose the first-ever draft lottery. Gilbert Perrault entered the HoF as a Sabre and someone else skated for the Nucks.

Oh, the Nucks have a nice young team (my under-the-radar player is D, Troy Stecher; he impressed the hell outta me with his high-motor and grittiness. I think he could be ready for a break out season and is worth keeping an eye on). They've got some elite youngsters and especially if they get a bit of luck at next year's draft, I think they be on the rise as early as next season.

 

Dan must have put a Sabrehex on the Canucks. In the next game Baertschi (concussion), Edler (dreaded Salo disease) and Tanev can't finish. They join Pettersson (concussion), Beagle (broken arm) and myself (running up a bar tab) on the shelf. 6-4 start was/is encouraging. Bring on some moar kidz.

The Kings have fallen big time to start this season... losers again, 2-7-1 on the season.

 

Holy shmokers, I didn't even realize that, too much talent for that to last. They should start worrying about a playoff spot if it continues into november though.

 

McD vs OV tonight, so far 0-0, but 2-1 oilers in the real game.

 

That's the NHL game im watching right now... got the TNF football game on also.
