    Here's Mayfield's quote:

When your 23-year old rookie quarterback is 1,000 times more articulate and correct than your 31 years of experience head coach, you know you have no leadership at the position. Mayfield can't call it what it was - Hue blaming someone else for his problems - but he can show Hue what real leadership looks like.

I'm not a big fan of Jason LaCanfora, but I agree, his takes on Hue were spot on.

Not that I don't somewhat agree with you guys, but do you guys have a secret handshake and secret knock to get into the "I Hate Hue Clubhouse?"

The continuous bashing of Hue for every little thing is getting to be a bit much. I'm not in his corner by any means, but he does have a pass from ownership on the rest of the year. He isn't going anywhere unless he stinks the joint up the rest of the way......like 2016 & 2017 bad. Just saying......there are other topics to chat about. Your anti-Hue stance has been well noted.

No secret handshake Doug. By your standards, that wasn't even a good wisecrack..... What the heck do you expect? Are you not following the thread? This is what people are talking about. I just posted a bit ago that it's not me belaboring the point. lol! These are the headlines....It's in USA Today, CBS, BLeacher Report, Cleveland.com, you name it...Everyone is talking about our lame ass coach. The funny thing is, he brought it all on himself with his own idiocy in the post game presser...Hue is in over his head, so until he gets himself fired, which amazingly hasn't happened yet, I wouldn't expect much to change.

JFTR: I was ready to let it go...But you know how it goes. Just when ya think yer out, they pull ya back in.;)

Hue may be on his way to the Hall of Shame, but I don't think the Haslams are going to completely upset the applecart and go the "interim coach" routel, barring a distinct drop off in the team's growth and competitiveness.

I was OK with Hue returning, for the sake of continuity, as long as he focussed on being Head Coach. He's not good at it, judging by his apparent inability to focus on anything but today's news cycle. Granted he was targeted by all the media for firing, but let's just think about what that means. Mid year coaching changes don't fix anything. Then we go HC hunting again in the off season.

This team has a rookie QB, no WRs, a porous O line, a kicker who's experience began 3 games ago, numerous questionable calls against it, and has been in every game but one. We all believe we could be sitting at 5 and 2, but I don't think Hue should take "all the blame".
I'm not particularly pleased with our O line coach's performance, Haley is handcuffed by an acute lack of recievers, a rookie QB, and a line that is never going to give the rookie QB a comfortable pocket. Williams' D is Oportunistic, but not particularly strong play to play. The Special Teams coach, whoever he is, doesn't even have to be discussed. His units have been bad, even admitting they have made progress.

You want to lay that all on Hue? Fine, but the Haslams plan is for Hue to get this year to make his case, and we will reach the halfway mark Sunday. If Cleveland beats Pittsburgh, and thus is 0 - 2 and 1 in the division, I doubt change will be the order of the day. If we lose, like everyone expects us to, and we change coaches where does our season go? How does that impact our rookie QB, the Offense, and the team as a whole? Name one of the Coordinators and what happens to their unit. I really don't want the OC to be splitting his time when we have a truly good rookie QB trying to learn.

If the Haslams and Dorsey decide to pull the trigger, and make one of our coordinators interim HC, please choose Williams, so the O can keep together in focus and growth. I feel the D could survive better than the O with less direct attention, but still believe Hue remains our best option as HC, until the season ends. Then Dorsey can pick his guy, and "Bless em".

And yet the title on the thread is "WEEK 8 - STEELER WEEK....Cle at Pit"

The only thing that should really matter is the continued development of Baker Mayfield. Hue could actually be detrimental to our young QB....I think that's the main reason some see his firing as more urgent.

This is Steeler week. It is what it is. lol! I don't control the headlines. This is a hot topic of conversation in the Cleveland Browns world this week...If you have something to contribute, by all means. Feel free to talk about the match-up. Everything is welcome....

For one thing, I listed like 4 links to different articles from around the sports world, but who's not letting it go Doug? Which is it? Do you want to talk about the match-up, or the "shitload's" of Browns fans that want Hue gone? I don't know the actual numbers, hopefully the term "shitload's" explains it better for ya than them, or they, or some....

JFTR: A large portion of the shitload's don't even understand how the dude hung onto his job in the first place, after 1-31...Maybe that's why there is so much negative chatter about coach, now that he is playing the blame game. Again...

Again, I agree. I don't think any changes are made prior to the offseason. And, I don't think it's a great move to make mid-season anyway because of the potential instability it brings.

If we all think Hue's gone after this season, I have no reason to bring it up again. But if folks still think there's a chance for him, then we have to have that discussion.

I am just as frustrated as everyone else about losing football games...BUT, we went from a 1-31 TEAR DOWN of this team...not coach related, imho...it was a complete re0build taking the roster down to the below the foundation...then started building it back up...in half a season we improved from a 3% winning percentage to 38% winning percentage which puts us squarely in the 6 win category and is exactly where everyone but SAS expected them to be this year without optimism... the optimism of Baker Mayfield pushed that number to between 7-9 wins for most, including Sam, but the reality # was 6 wins was what everyone was expecting... I believe we are still in line to hit those expectations...Baker after all is still a rookie.

So, if we are hitting expectations, I'm not sure where all the hatred is for Hue. I'm not endorsing him by any means, I have my issues with him in the way he handles the media, his coaches being a prime example. You don't throw anyone on your coaching staff under the bus...EVER. I have a problem with the way he handles officials. When the officiating is as bad as it is this year league wide, you better have your big boy pants on in the game to the point when one goes against us, you are in their faces to the point of almost getting kicked out of the game. I don't care if you get a 15 yard penalty, show some fight as the HC THAT IS YOUR JOB! When the QB gets hit helmet to helmet, don't stand their with a look of disbelief and agony. Throw your fucking headset off and run onto the field and demand an explanation. When one is given, demand a referee huddle up. The call was SO wrong it didn't even pertain to the QB, a helmet to helmet isn't permissible no matter who has the ball. DEMAND they get it right. The fact he DID start his slide is enough to get your so angry you look like the Hulk, but BESIDES THAT FACT, the explanation was wrong ANYWAY.

THAT is why I have a problem with Hue.

    The offensive line:
Why is everyone so down on the O-Line? They are actually improving each week and are really playing fairly well at this point of the season considering you have an un-drafted rookie at LT and a new RT to boot. They are holding the pass rush at or above the league average on nearly every play. We have a rookie QB who must get his internal clock up to speed with the speed of the game, then we will stop taking unnecessary sacks. That will happen in time, Thanks @Lyman for reminding me of that!!

Regardless of the fact we have lost 4 games in 7 tries, we are making strides weekly on STILL the youngest team in the NFL. I UNDERSTAND the Rams are the second youngest team and are NOT struggling...they also have a QB that is in his 3rd year. He did not play nearly as well in his rookie year as Baker is playing now... With the same rate of improvement that is happening now, I can easily see the same types of jump from 1st year to 3rd year as we are seeing with the Rams.

Fellas, the sky isn't falling any longer...it is actually rising every day

It's going to be just as frustrating on Sundays for me as it is you because they have had an opportunity to win 6 of those 7 games... They could EASILY be 6-1 in stead of 2-4-1...That is frustrating...but it was also unexpected.

I don't see ANY reason to fire Hue in the middle of the season. I do think there needs to be serious evaluations moving forward into the off season, but for God's sake, give him a full season to evaluate where this team is when December ends before castrating him.
