so the tv show the Connors aired this week without Roseanne Barr, who was booted off for racist comments and then the show took a break, change it's named and killed her off. how did they do it ... ? Spoiler opioides overdose. they made it in the story she was addicted to opioides after an injury, which the real Roseanne Barr had. A tv neighbor gave her character some pills bc the tv character Barr couldn't afford them and she died from an overdose. then the tv character said she didn't know the tv Roseanne was hooked on them. the real Roseanne is pissed her character went out that way ! pretty shitty to do that to the show creator. wow.
The whole thing was crappy to begin with not being a racist but pull up a picture of Valerie Jarrett and then pull up pictures from the Planet of the Apes especially the ones from the 2001 movie with Helena Bonham Carter and you can see how the comment may not have been racist at all.

This is still America... what does that even mean? The way Roseanne was treated is VERY American. There is nothing moral or majestic about this country or the people who “founded” it. It was built on blood, bones, racism, rape, lies and general fuckery. THAT is America.
It's 1000000% how it should've went down. ABC is the network, they decide what shows they wish to air. She got to keep the rights to her character and Casey-Werner got to keep the rest. The fact that a show that had huge ratings was canceled and not one of the other gazillion channels around wanted to touch it says it all. That shit's as American as it gets.
