When Minnesota bought Cousins and cut bait with Keenum, I said it was a mistake. I feel the rapport and the fluidity just isn’t there. Also, the Vicodins are facing a string of injuries this season.
I didn't intend to minimize what the Rams have done so far thus year. They have beaten the teams they should have beaten and have beat them by an average of 22 points (3 TD's) a game !
Jason Garrett will be the first coach fired this season. Not really going out on a limb with this either.
From ESPN's Will Cain: "This coach [Jason Garrett] played to lose, or to avoid losing at best. Not to win the game. You can laugh, you can do the Herm Edwards quote, you can do whatever you want, but this is one full display for the last two weeks. You had the lessons going into it. You didn't have to wait. You didn't have to go long history. How about last week? Hue Jackson had a chance to win the game for the Browns, and what'd he do? Same thing Jason Garrett did, and the Browns lost. And then yesterday Sean McVay had a chance to win the game, and what'd he do? He went for it on 4th & 1, and what'd the Rams do? They won. Winners win, losers try to avoid losing. "This is what the Cowboys have running it right now, losers. The truth of the matter is they're losers at their own game. In the Dak, Zeke era, they have gone for it on 4th & 1 19 times. They have made it 18 times. That's 94 percent. What in God's good name terrified you at the opponents 42? What are you doing punting at your opponents 42 in overtime with a chance to win the game. What's more is this is what you've invested in for going on a decade. You chose Tyron Smith over JJ Watt. I like, it that's fine, but that's how you chose to invest. You chose Zack Martin over Johnny Manziel, thank God, but that's how you chose to invest. You chose Ezekiel Elliott over Jalen Ramsey. I still don't hate it, but you've invested for close to a decade in being able to run on 4th & 1 and you punted because you're a loser. It's over, it's time. Unless you want another decade of losing, move on. The Jason Garrett era has to be over."
Here is a random opinion... NFL officiating is at an all time low...minus the time we had replacement refs....this is the worst I've ever seen it.
UFC Fighter Conor McGregor was in Dallas yesterday talking to Jerry Jones. Hopefully he's not the next Dallas QB...
The cowboys beatdown of the Jaguars will keep Garret from being the first fired. Vance Joseph is a good choice for first.
Is Le'Veon worth $6.8M for 7 games? It's now midweek, so if he does show up today, tomorrow or November 13th, he will not be able to play this week, yet he would get paid for it. I bring this up because of the reports he has been spotted in a Pittsburgh suburb. What are the benefits for the Steelers at this point? Save Conner for the playoffs? There are a lot of questions even if he does show up...Is he in shape, if he isn't, how easy would it be for him to fake an injury? Then you are paying him, he isn't helping save Conner and it really doesn't help the Steelers in any way. I do have one legit question, if he signs or if he doesn't sign, the Steelers would gain compensatory value for him in 2019. IF THEY RESCIND the tag prior to him signing it, are they still eligible for the comp value?
That was my whole point, but the more I think about it, they should pay the money so that someone else doesn't sign him that they might face in the playoffs. I was thinking before, at this point all he does is disrupts the positive going on in the locker room. They should rescind the offer and be done with him. That would be punishment because he won't get $14M per year on the open market right now. Though, he might sign a short term deal for around $6M from a playoff bound team. The Jaguars would probably jump at the chance unless Fournette is finally healthy. Or any other playoff bound team....or, even the Ravens.... Then if he helps a team to the playoffs, his riches will be rewarded in free agency. So, I can see why they keep him now..
i thought to acquire him it had to be done via trade and not a signing? im lost on the issue. if all it takes is money, the Eagles have a ton of cap room to pull it off.
The deadline to do ANYTHING is November 13th. If he doesn't sign by then, or they don't rescind it, he is done for the year. I'm certain they will not rescind it until he actually shows up to sign it. At this point, they are probably hoping he doesn't sign it. He might be in Pittsburgh simply to coax them into rescinding...Otherwise, why didn't he go straight to the facility and get on with it? He was spotted playing pickup basketball in a suburb a couple of hours ago...this is a game that helps no one, he is a child.
Rescinding it would be an awful move on their part. Call his bluff. If he signs it and starts practicing...make him a second string player or play him down the stretch to keep Conner fresh. If he sits out until the deadline...tag him again for next season. Bell and his agent played this whole thing wrong. Make them eat it.
