I think you're an hour away, when I took a greyhound to florida, toledo was our first stop after we left detroit.
I had a driving job when I was 18, used to drive a cube van. I used to go to windsor all the time, it was 5 hrs.
The new arena would be nice to see, I bet I could score a pretty good seat for $50.

I have this new credit card that awarded me 15000 travel points, I could go to new york with that, might check out a rags/leafs game.

  8. This is getting increasingly hard to watch. I don't think this team can succeed with Blashill going forward. I'm really disappointed with him because I backed him heavily after watching the Griffins win consistently under him for years.

I saw Tippett get snatched up as an adviser for the new Seattle franchise, so he's out. What head coach is even available right now? I think a change there is beyond necessary at this point.

Wow... I was just on this subject with some friends and I expressed the same thing you just stated. I really believe Blashill must go also.

Right now, off the top of me head, I cant think of anyone that I would like to see take over, but its an interesting subject. Some have threw Dave Bylsma's name in the ring, I don't know tho.

Very tough position the Wings are in. I just hope their not trigger shy if an opportunity arises.

Nice to see you, by the way... its lonely in Red Wings country here, lol.

PS - im watching them get out maneuvered as we speak... :wall:

  11. It's good to see you as well, Will. I miss the old days of CBS :(

I'm not high on Bylsma at all. The success he had with the Penguins is mostly attributed to the great team he was blessed with imo. I doubt it would be better than a sideways move, but I also don't know what other play the Wings have at this point. Blashill is clearly in over his head. The Wings have regressed every year under him with no sign of turning it around any time soon. He has to go.

Green could make season debut for Red Wings on Friday
Defenseman has been sidelined with virus...

Mike Green could make his season debut for the Detroit Red Wings when they host the Winnipeg Jets at Little Caesars Arena on Friday (7:30 p.m. ET; NHLN, FS-D, TSN3).

The 33-year-old defenseman has not played because of a virus sustained in training camp.

"We hope to have him in Friday," coach Jeff Blashill told the Red Wings website after practice Tuesday. "I don't know that yet, but we hope to have him in Friday."

Green, who had 33 points (eight goals, 25 assists) in 66 games last season, joined the Red Wings last week on their road trip and practiced.

"I think we'll assess today and then be in the next couple games," Green said after practice. "It was a good test. I kind of needed to see where I'm at and that was a good way. It was a good skate today."

Defenseman Danny DeKeyser, who has missed Detroit's past four games with a hand injury, could return against the Dallas Stars on Sunday.

The Red Wings (1-6-2) have allowed the most goals in the League (38) and the most goals per game (4.22).

"It would be nice," coach Jeff Blashill said. "Danny and Mike, you can say whatever you want, they're real good defensemen in this league, top four on most teams in the league, and we'd like to have them back." (NHL.com)

Uh, Will, 8-8-2 means they've won 8 of their 18 games. They lost 8 games in regulation time and then another 2 losses in OT/SO. That makes DET 8-10 as far as W/L; or they're at .444.

Don't want to rain on your parade; just after several years' experience with Buffalo, I am cautious about this.
