That was the most fun I’ve had watching a Bears game in quite a while. I don’t really have any complaints...and that’s something.

Tarik Cohen isn’t a gimmick player. He can do some gimmick type stuff...but he’s a real good football player. He can run routes...he can run the ball really well. And he’s smart. We need to see more of Howard but it’s easy to see why Nagy is in love with Cohen.

Gabriel was a really good signing. Not much else to add.

The defense is now at a level where guys out there are trying to one up each other. Everyone is playing at a high level. When you can have guys like Nichols playing limited snaps but giving you impact plays you’ve got something special going.

I was worried about Tolliver but he played well. Not great but he did his job and it’s not like he was going against slouches.

Khalil Mack is 4 for 4 in the sack/FF department. I said it last week...he’s always looking for the ball. He knows what wins football games.

Bears lead the league in sacks...they also lead the league in fewest roughing the passer calls...they have zero. See Hicks sack? He wrapped up the waist and twisted the QB down. While I hate the new rules all the talk that defensive players can’t play within the rules is crap. You just gotta be smarter than the problem.

Kyle Long might be on track already to play in another Pro Bowl and this one he might actually be truly earning because he’s been awesome. I hope that ankle holds up all season. The interior of that line is legit. James Daniels got some snaps in the second half to allow Long to rest it and he has the bye week too.

Steelers thought they ended Fitzmagic but he still had 400 yards against them. Bears stomped the magic out.

Best prep and playcalling job we’ve seen from Nagy so far.

Amos and Jackson have to be among the best safety tandems in football. Really good on the backend.

Like I said...I have no complaints. Mitch threw a few bad balls yesterday...the one on the screen was potentionally a pick 6 if the defense played it right. But outside of that...great f’n game.

So what I'm hearing, and figuring out after reading the game thread, is that I picked the wrong game to miss.

Well, I'll take it either way. Awesome. I'm just hoping it's a sign of good things from Trubisky, and not an isolated incident. The fact that the success continued after the scripted plays were over... very encouraging.

Can't disagree with anything you wrote. And given I began drnking at 9 AM and didn't stop till maybe 2 am, I don't really have a leg to stand on anyway.

    Couple of my notes:

    1) That Tampa line was not crappy. They have several experienced (and at times) dominating players. And yet, aside from an early series, Trubisky had plenty of time to let routes develop and hit (often) wide open receivers. Our Oline is gellin...

    2) If Trubs can play like that moving forwad, or even kinda like that, this team could be dominant. I'm going to need to see a lot more consistency (game to game) before I get gidy. But, shit he looked good. I've started looking for some crows to cook up.

    3) Mack - there was one play on the Tampa TD drive where he completely juked the RT and had a free run at the QB. The RT litterally tackled him from behind. i think it was on 3rd and long. I have to watch that again when the all-22 comes out, but how in the hll did they not throw a flag. Mack easily coul have had a 3 sack game yesteray.

    4) Leonard Floyd - would be nice to se him show up. They even switched up and moved Mack to the right side. Mack still beat the double and triple team. Floyd was still stymied at the line.

    5) I hope Hicks is not suspended. But if he is I would not be surprised. There was precedent set last year where when you're ejected from the game, you don't get another one. But, WTF was he thinking???

    6) Jordan Howard was apparently upset he idn't get more touches. Fuck that. you put up 48 points, be happy and STFU.

    7) Kevin White had a huge downfield block leveling a DB to spring Cohen. Did they show this on TV? it was fucking awesome. See, he does have value...

    8) There wre more open receivers in this game downfield than I'm guessing you could even see on TV. There were several times where I was ylling at Mitch because he missed an easy wide open receiver only to pull my foot out of my mouth when he hit another wide opn receiver.

    9) You just can't criticize Nagy for his game plan. But... I do think he eased off the gas pedal in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Again, up by 35 point, I get it. But still...

    10) Sucks to have a 3 game win streak only to have the momentum halted with a bye week. We are healthy and don't need it. i hope we keep this chip on our shoulder over the break.

That block by White was sick.

1- Wow didn't see this coming but GREAT to see a complete game from start to finish , this is what could have happened against GB but oh well.

2- At a boy Mitch we now know you have it in you , now let's keep it going moving forward , don't expect 5 to 6 every game but perhaps this is that start of something great.

    3- Defense stout as usual

4- Roquan Smith is getting better every week , once he grasp 100% of the defense he's going to be a force .

5- Lenord Floyd still disappointing looked like a rag doll on a few plays .. looks like a WR playing linebacker to me.

5- Wish they would have shown Howard some love on the last 1st and goal from the 2 and run it up the gut but matchups presented the Bears with a lineup and they went with it , they need him moving forward so let's hope he stays positive .

6- Good to see Burton get a TD , hope he get's more involved .

7- Payback from last years shellacking in Tampa when I left the stadium at half time LOL.

8- Yea agree with Mongo let's keep the mojo going after the break , keep the chip on the shoulder as there are some winnable game coming up for sure.

That game made me wonder if the game against GB could have been different if they had been playing at home. I know that there are probably a million flaws to my comment but seeing Trub spinning his way through the game in front of his fans just made me wonder ... if he had been at home would he have so completely lost his focus like he did?

Even if it was just one game....so far. It was great to see Mitch break out like he did. It was almost like Nagy heard the outside noise and said ok lets shut everyone the fuck up.

It was nice to finally see Cohen fully involved. Yea it sucked if you had Howard in your fantasy league but like Nagy said it’s not about stats it’s about winning. The game goes a different way and maybe Howard is more involved. It was nice to see the pedal to the medal until the game was truely out of reach.

Can’t say enough about the defense other than I just don’t know how Mack isn’t getting the holding calls. He’s getting held every play and still killing shit.

Lynch has been coming on. Don’t know how long Floyd has a starting job.

They showed it and the announcer even said "that's the best tackle the Bucs have done all day". That was well into the second half though so I think they were "letting them play" since the game was pretty much done anyway.

I said on the other thread one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. - on twitter someone said the ref got between the players, but I don't see that. Granted there's no good camera angle of it.

Showed it and highlighted it actually. I'd love to be wrong about him and have him start to figure it out too.

I am trying to pump the breaks a bit because Mitch still has a lot to prove, but man was that a great game to watch. And Khalil Mack is just incredible, that cannot be stated enough. I never would have thought his pickup would mean as much as it has to the team. A few games swing maybe, but he has taken the entire team to another level.

That was really not as bad as i thought it was. I think he'll be fined and be let off as he was ejected. I'm pretty sure this was in the first half?

LOFL. It may have been. It actually is worse to watch it on TV than live... Wow.

Here it is. It was actually 4th and 3...

We were screaming about it on the game thread. It was really obvious on TV.

As dominant as Mack has been you'd think it would have opened up opportunities for Floyd but he's been super quiet. Maybe he's best used as a spy for a mobile QB.

Do you have a source for that? I thought his lack of involvement was a bit strange. I get that Tampa wasn't able to cover Cohen but still.

Yes they did. I was glad to see it too. Best thing he's done as a Bear. I was rooting for him to get a TD yesterday. Would have really made the day complete.

Bye weeks should come later in the season. Makes no sense for any team to have it now.

Talk about someone who has gotten lost in this defense. Sucks for him and for our depth, though I don't remember him making a single play all season.

Kylie Fitts? I liked him in the preseason.

The only thing you lose with Acho is someone you can plug in at all 4 linebacker spots.

Beyond that he’s just a special teamer that was never great and he is slower now than he was a few years ago.

Yeah, end of the first half. It's bad to me because it's a ref, period. No he didn't do anything more than a light chest bump but damn it dude, the refs are untouchable and it wasn't incidental.

I think I read this morning there's a definite fine but no extra games, which is good.

Trading for Mack allowed them to have really good depth at linebacker when before that it seemed like they were so thin.

All I read was that he left without talking to reporters. We will see if more comes out.
